PROLOGUE

I was walking through the hallway when I noticed a crowd of students circling someone in the middle. And there I saw a man singing which cause the students to squeal in excitement.

Covering my ears, I was about to walk away when suddenly my eyes caught a Goddess in the crowd.

She's the only one who stands out among them.

Her beautiful eyes shone in happiness, her cute smile that can make anyone stunned in their stanceㅡ like me, her nose that I want to kiss, and her whole appearance that made my whole being tingled in a way I have never felt before.

Is she aphrodite's hidden daughter? Her beauty is etherealㅡcliché, I know.

My heart starts to beat faster and faster in each seconds, and it seems like I'm in heaven just by staring at her.

But my smile broke the moment I saw the man who was singing approached her before kneeling in front of her and held her hands before giving it a chaste kiss.

My heart broke into a thousand pieces when I saw how her smile went wide before nodding at the man.

I didn't even bother to cover my ears when all of the students screamed so loud that almost break my eardrum.

Silly me for crying when I just met her today.

I'm an orphan, I don't know where my parents are and I don't really give a fuck about them. The Miller University gives scholarships to our orphanage and that's the reason why I get to study.

But, when I turned 16th I told Mother Sandra, the person who takes good care of me inside the orphanage, that I want to be independent, at first she didn't allow me because she wants me to finished my study for me to have a better future but then, I told her that it's only for two years and I already saw an apartment for me to lived, she eventually let me.

But, not before lending me some money. I used the money she gave me to pay my rent for the whole 3 months which is enough for me to save again for the next months. Luckily, I quickly found a job as a janitor in a fast food chain.

And the salary was just enough for me to pay for my necessary purchases and bills.

I've been working as a janitor for more than 4 years nowㅡ yes, I'm still working in the fast food chain as a part timer, I only work at 5PM until 9PM.

Actually, it was Joshua, my manager at the fast food chain, who helped me to get a scholarships inside the Miller University.

And he is the reason why Finley and I became best of friends. When Finley know my situation in life she offered to pay my rent since it was just a coins to her. Well, she's freaking rich, that's why.

She even wanted me to stop from working but I told her that I can't just always rely on her and her, paying my rental was more than enough help.

Finley was also the first one who knew my feelings for Hailey, until she told Mavis who also know Hailey as her co-teacher before she transferred to another school, but they never really met since Mavis was teaching in Junior High, and Miss Miller was in Senior High. And JS campus was a little too far from SH campus.

I've been having feelings towards Hailey for more than two years now, the moment I saw her was the first time that my heart beat frantically and at that moment I knew that she's the one that my heart have been looking for.

But that also the moment that she said 'yes' to Mr Bradson as her boyfriend which makes my heart to shattered completely.

Even though, she's already taken my heart didn't stop from beating abnormally everytime I saw her walking in the hallway together with her co-teachers and most of the time with her boyfriend.

She actually never noticed me when I was still in my 11th grade, well, why would she? I'm just her student. We didn't even interact now that she's one of my teacher what more before that I'm not one of her student.

I sighed as I looked up from the sky. It's cloudy today unlike yesterday's weather that so gloomy.

"Hey, I've been looking for you everywhere, lunch break will be over in 10 minutes" Finley patted my shoulder before sitting beside me in the bench.

I'm in the garden right now, admiring the beautiful flowers who reminds me of Hailey.

"Fin, I'm failing in my two subjects"

"You are Levine and I believe in you that you can still passed those subject, and if not, I can just always help you pay the school"

"I'll passed them, I don't want you to pay my studies" I replied and squeezed her both cheeks before running away from her.

"Yaaaah, Levy!" She groaned and ran, trying to catch me.

"Come back here, look what have you done to my pretty face"

I just tucked my tongue out of her and ran towards Mr Bradson room, since, he's our second to the last subject. And Hailey will be our last subject. I'm actually good at Literature so, I'm confident that I'll passed her subject.

I'll just hope my buddy to behave later.
