"Freya, are you done with my nails?" Adah asked, leaning back in the chair with her hair tied back, a face mask on, and cucumbers on her eyes.

"Yes!" I beamed with pride. I am incredibly proud of my nail art; no one in the world can do nail art better than me.

"Are you not going to check it?" I was a bit disappointed that she did not care to look at the beautiful nail art I did. For Adah's nails, I chose a design that would beautifully complement her warm, Indian skin tone. I started with a rich, deep maroon base, a colour that exudes elegance and pairs wonderfully with her complexion. On top of that, I painted intricate golden patterns, reminiscent of traditional henna designs, on each nail. The gold shimmered in the light, adding a touch of glamour and making the design pop against the maroon background.

On her ring fingers, I added tiny, delicate rhinestones at the centre of the floral patterns to give it a subtle sparkle, perfect for catching the eye without being too overwhelming. The combination of maroon and gold, along with the precise detailing, made her nails look like little pieces of art.

"Freya, I have been with you for over a month now, I trust you, darling."

I felt that my eyes were tearing up. Adah had just been my friend for a month, yet she was so much better than those who were supposed to remain by my side forever, those who were supposed to protect me, and those who were supposed to love me.

"Speaking of which, Freya, do you know where the girls are?"

"They were supposed to join us for the makeover in your room."

"I suppose they are getting dressed themselves if they have not come yet," Adah sighed.

"We will meet at Kayla's birthday today," I told her absent-mindedly.

Adah sighed again. "Honestly, Freya, you are the only true friend I have around here. I don't know what would happen without you. Lucy and Katrina always seem to be ditching me."

Reached out and squeezed her hand gently. "Adah, I'm always here for you. True friends stick together, and I'm not going anywhere. Maybe Lucy and Katrina are caught up in their own things, but that doesn't change our bond. Let's enjoy tonight and have fun at Kayla's birthday. You deserve to have a great time."

I took off Adah's face-pack and cucumber.

"Go change!" I pushed Adah inside the dressing room.
