A Small Win

I was about to take a stroll in order to clear my head when suddenly, the ritual circle I used to communicate with Alice suddenly began to pulsate with magic. Full of anticipation, I raced towards it. Alice and I had been working on a plan for a while now, and it seemed she had finally succeeded.

The vial appeared before me in a shimmer of light, settling in the middle of the circle. I stared at it, my breath hitching as a rush of relief and pride washed over me. It had worked. Alice had done it.

I picked up the vial, holding it carefully in my hands, marveling at the faint golden aura that still clung to it, the traces of Alice's magic. The blood inside swirled faintly, almost glowing. Alice had said the baby housed immense power in him, and just from the blood alone, I could tell that she hadn't been playing around.
