Chapter 2

Somewhere in hell...

"I told you... She would never love back someone who stole her wedding ring and then sold it for profit."

"People can change, man... I tried to talk to her because I believe she can redeem herself."

"Dude," he paused. "Are you actually serious? You want her to redeem herself when you are the one at fault here?"

"Actually, she had it coming. If she hadn't tried to take a piece of my sandwich, I would have forgiven her."

"Dude, I swear..."

"Ahem!" Someone outside the conversation interrupted.

"What are you two doing?" he continued.

"Ahh... boss, you see we just started an interesting conversa—"

"FOR 30 MINUTES!!!"

The person referred to as boss screamed in rage. Veins were popping on the side of his head. He looked extremely red. Steaming hot gases were pumping out of his ears. One might think this was a manifestation of his boiling wrath, but it was his natural look.

The boss was the administrator overseeing all of hell's prison sections. The two idiots he was addressing were security operators who were supposed to guard a specific section of hell and report any signs of sinners dropping from above, delivering those prisoners to the appropriate punishment center.

"I have been standing right next to you for a whole DAMN 30 MINUTES! And neither of you even seemed to notice me, ignoring me like some background character in a sitcom," the administrator said with resentment and a tired expression.

"How long have you been in conversation?" the administrator continued.

"Uh... umm... actually, we started talking not very long before you started watching us, so we've only been talking for a WHOLE 30 MINUTES!"

Those were his last words before the administrator punched him with such force that he went flying, breaking the glass between the station and the hellish barren desert, and fell into it. Seeing his fellow security operator flabbergasted with an open mouth, the administrator retries to get the guard's attention.

"Listen up, I'll let you off this once since you are new here and we haven't met a lot. When you're working here, in this guard outpost, always FOCUS! Okay? We cannot let any of those fools out there in the wasteland stay happy for even a second. It's the rule here. You have to report them real quick and send them to where they belong without delays. Incompetency is not allowed here. You are no longer working on earth anymore. You cannot get tired, nor do you need to eat or sleep. We have to perform these tasks for near eternity constantly with these crappy securities and conditions. We are mildly punished as well. Don't ever treat this job like any other. Anyway, you know the basics. I'm also wasting time here talking to you. Let's cut this quick."

"Yes... yes sir," the operator said while saluting.

"The hell are you saluting me for?" shouted the administrator.

"Sorry, force of habit."

However, what they didn't know was that they had already forgotten there was one sinner who escaped their radius of sight.
