Dying Girl

"That is enough!" Bernand's eyes filled with cold and darkness as he looked at the couple with a snickering glance. "If your goal was to call me and insult me in your house. You did it well. And I hope you are ready to pay the cost too." David's face went pale as he noticed the snicker.

He had been serving this man for a long time. Though he had been the chairman in his company. Benard was the biggest shareholder. He had so much business that was why he did not care about this small makeup brand.

But if Benard wanted, he would throw them out at once. Sohpia had the same thought. How she wanted to return and drag that sleeping girl out of the room and threw him on this man to save themselves.

"Please, there must be some misunderstanding. It is a mistake." David stammers but it was already too late. Benrard was staring coldly at Sophia who had held Penny's hands. His eyes narrowed and he laughed.

"There is no misunderstanding, but there is a mistake. Your mistake and you…" his eyes cold and dark that Sohpia flinched when his lips curled, "have already done it." He turned and left the hall.

Penny struggled and tried to get herself free. But Sophia did not let go of her hand. She held her wrist tightly.

"Mother, what are you doing?" Penny cried, "it is hurting now." Sohphia finally turned to look at her daughter and then closed her eyes and sighed. Her grip slowly loosening on her hands.

She had held Penny for stopping her but in the end, she was holding her to get the strength. She had become weak under that dark gaze. It was so pressurizing and full of wickedness that her knees were giving up and she needed support.

David had fallen on the sofa too. He looked pale and exhausted. His face was full of fear.

"She was trying to ruin my career! My future and she had done it successfully." he glared at his wife. "Now say goodbye to all the maids working here and to your luxurious lifestyle. And I will go look for jobs already." he spat with a look of contempt on his face.

He did not care if it was his daughter that accompanied his boss for a while. It was not like his daughter was pure and.. He shook his head as he frowned at the mother and daughter.

"You have failed to give me a son and now this!" he whispered as he walked past them. Sophia's eyes trembled as she heard it.

It had been a decade since he had stopped pointing it. When she was pregnant with Penny, she had suffered an accident. And it was a premature delivery. Her condition was very bad so they had to take out the uterus. So, she could not be a mother again.

If not, she would have tried for the boy too. And the accident happened because of! Her eyes burnt with rage. As if this whole event was a blur. All she remembered was the accident from years ago. She let go of her daughter and climbed stairs at once.

She only stopped when she reached the washroom. It would be better that the girl die! No, how could she have such an easy death. She would make sure that Nora suffered for eternity. She would send the girl as an apology gift to that man.

If she could not be the wife, let her be the mistress. With a cold smirk on her face, she opened the door to see the doctor was still there. The servant had dared to shift Nora on Penny's bed. The bedsheets had been wet and ruined in the process.

The doctor had stood up and was now discussing with the servant. When they noticed her coming, the doctor smiled. Relieved that he did not need to explain the situation to a servant.

"Mrs. Stuart, I am glad that you are here. Your niece.."

"I'm in bed!" She cut the doctor coldly. "I am sure that i have let her be on the floor because she was dirty and wet. How did she reach the bed in her unconscious state?"

"...." both men were dumbfounded by the question. She did not care about the condition of the young girl but all she was concerned about was that Nora was in bed. What kind of woman was she?

Mathews knew the family for a long time, so he got his composure first but the doctor was still looking at the woman.

"Madam, it was my fault. I will accept the punishment later.'' His words brought the doctor back to reality and he blinked.

"The girl had inhaled a lot of water. She was on the verge of death. We had pressed her chest so many times but the water kept coming out. If it had been any later, she would have died.

Not to mention that she was not in the swimming pool. If words go out, the family would be blamed for an attempt to murder of a young girl. You must be worried about that, Mrs Stuart, not your bedsheet."He adjusted his glasses and spoke in a calm composure but his threat was anything but calm.

Sophia's eyes flickered. She was about to shout again but Mathews shook his head.

"There must be some misunderstanding, Doctor. The girl must have.."

"Been forced. I have checked the bathtub again. It is not that big. A person can not drown in it until it is intentional. And unless the girl wanted to commit suicide, she could not have drowned herself. But even if that is the case, she must have some reason. No?" he looked at Sophia though he was talking to Mathews. The threat did not go unnoticed by Sophia. She heaved with rage. Now even a doctor was threatening her.

"The girl needs a lot of rest. I hope you do not force her to rest on the floor. I have already given the name of medicines. Have a good day Mrs Stuart."

"......"
