Proof Of Violence

"Ha! Now I will see how sick you are!" Penny raised the belt with frost covering her eyes. She did not care if Nora died in the process. She was just a pest with no goal anyway. What was the difference between her life and cockroaches?

"Slash!" the harsh sound rang in the air as she whipped Nora. once, twice, thrice. The soft gown Nora was wearing for change tore and marks started to form on her white skin.

Penny belted Nora ten times before gritting her teeth. The girl did not flinch or move even an inch. Could she really be unconscious? But how? She remembered she had only locked the door. She had not pushed Nora into the water. Yet her eyes gleamed with loathing as she looked at the sleeping figure.

A dead person would return alive after getting such a harsh beating, yet she was sleeping so calmly.

"Ha!" Penny let out a low hollow chuckle before pushing Nora on the ground and then she closed the lights.

"Now my bed is stinking because of you." She complained as she stretched her exhausted body on the other side of the bed. Her eyes closed at once and she drifted to sleep.

Nora opened her eyes at that precise moment. Bloodshot red eyes filled with hatred. Her nails dug deeper into her palm inside the covers. She stared at the pillow she was sleeping on. If she would strangle Penny, one of the culprits would die here at once.

She sat up and stared at Penny who was sleeping carefree. She knew Penny never woken up once she fell asleep, so she was not worried of getting caught. She caressed the pillow with her eyes going darker.

Sleeping Penny, mumbling in her sleep was the only thing Nora could see. And then at once, she let the pillow go and stood up. She checked her wounds. Red burning seven marks were on her skin. Only three starting belts did not leave the mark.

But there was no pain in her eyes. But her cold eyes gleamed with joy.

"It was easier than I thought." she whispered in the dark before opening the closet of Penny and searching for a box.

She took out a black velvet box. It was locked. But she took out the pin from her hair and opened it with a few twists and turns.

Inside, there were a few jewels and a chain pendant. Nora took the chain pendant from the box and placed it back. She hid it in her pocket before sleeping on the ground easily.

Sleep all of you can, because tomorrow, hell is waiting for you.

"Are you sure that the girl drowned in the water?" asked Alric with an indifferent look on his face.

The doctor who had treated Nora previously was sitting in front of him with a grim look on his face.

"Yes, I am sure they have hurt her the moment I left too. Who knew she might be dead tomorrow while we are leisurely chatting here." he commented in an agitated voie making Alric raise his brow.

"People die all the time, sir. You can not save all of them." The doctor stood up and slammed the table.

"But I can save the one I see dying in front of me. I have chosen the profession of doctor to save lives only. I have thought you are running this trust to help the abused and suffering one. If you are not interested, I would look for help somewhere. But I must go with help today." he announced in a resolute voice. His eyes looked at the blue sky with an accusing look.

He wanted to return only yesterday. But he knew they would not allow him. And he could not save the young girl himself. He had felt like the girl was pleading to him last night though she did not even open her eyes.

Alric's eyes flickered but when he looked at the doctor again, he had an amused smile on his face.

"Sigh! You should not be agitated like this, Doc. You are still young. What if you could not find a wife later." he shook his head in a dramatic way, "we have been working together for a year now. For our friendship, I will come with you. But remember, we are not talking about the slum areas we usually deal with. We are dealing with rich people who have the world on their feet." his voice growing glum as he spoke the last line.

But his posture was still at ease and the smile did not leave his face.

"What if there are proofs and we can add media?" Alric's eyes narrowed but a strange thrill filled them.

"The girl should have proof to give to the media then and it would create a lot of chaos!" He warned the doctor to go silent at once. "But you know what, Doc. you have come to the right person. I love this batshitcrazy chaos." The doctor looked at him with hope again when he took out his phone and dialed a number.

"I am going to Stuart's house in an hour. Wait at a coffee shop nearby. I have feed for you there." he chuckled at what the other party said and cut the call.

This time when he looked at the doctor, the carefree and leisure attitude was nowhere to be seen. He looked like a hawk who had marked its prey.

Suddenly the doctor had a feeling. That he was not convincing this person for the past hour. But Alric was playing with him. He wanted to help from the start, yet he forced him to beg and cry. The thought left him stiffened like a stone.

Alric noticed the change and his lips curled into a sinister smile again. He stood up and dusted the imaginary lint from his clothes,

"I am going to give them headlines, Doc. Neither is it about the girl or you."
