Nora had always been a pushover. Penny did not remember Nora had ever cut their words. Even when she had glared at Penny for the injustice she had suffered, she had never once spoken about it.
The only reason was, her father treated her well. She was well fed, educated and even had good dresses. Who could leave such luxuries but to think that she had left just like that! Penny could not bear it and forgot that she was in her class.
But now that Nora had gone, Penny noticed how everyone was looking at her with contempt and disdain. Some even have abhorred expressions on their faces making her embarrassed.
"Nora…" she opened her mouth only to receive snickers. When everyone looked at her, she felt intimidated. How much hard work had she done to earn an image between them but now they were looking at her as if she was a criminal. Rage burnt her and she left the class gritting her teeth.
