It was my first night at the Bloodfallen house, my new home away from home. Well, "house" was a bit of an understatement. This place was more like a dormitory that had swallowed a grand mansion and burped out a fever dream.
It was no wonder I couldn't sleep. Everything felt so... different here. I stood at the window, staring out at the dark woods behind the dorm. My reflection looked ghostly in the glass, and I barely recognized myself in that new environment.
Turning back to the room, I couldn't help but compare it to the Citadel. Where were the chandeliers, the ornate furniture, the stern portraits watching my every move?
Instead, there was just this small, plain space. The ceiling light was so ordinary, casting a dull glow over everything.
The walls were mostly bare, save for a corkboard covered in notices I still needed to decipher and some generic artwork that was probably supposed to be soothing.
