Chapter 29 – Hidden Quest for Class Advancement

Sleeping for 4 hours was enough for gamers.

Alarm blared 10 minutes before Day Cycle started in Horizon Online,. The couple woke up, ate oatmeal, drank a nutritional supplement, and then logged in once again.

Because they had already reached Level 18, their agenda for this Day Cycle was to get a Hidden Quest for Atlas' class advancement to a rare class.

"Unfortunately, we didn't find that guy's hidden quest, but let's just stick to my original plan and get the class that I want." Atlas said to Ferin while walking through the outer part of Rudina City.

His class advancement required him to find a specific NPC and talk with them to receive the quest. In case he couldn't find the NPC or failed to finish the quest, he would just accept a general class and move on.

Or at least that was what normal people did.

For Atlas and Ferin, information was everything. Information on classes and items gave them an advantage over other players. It was their trump card, especially for Atlas who knew how to make use of it.

"What class are you aiming for, At?" Ferin asked him curiously while holding his hand tightly and glanced at him with a small smile on her face, "Mind to tell me?"

"Because Rune Mage isn't possible because we can't find the NPC in the slum, I plan on taking the Combo Mage class." Atlas answered her question as they continued walking through the street.

"Combo Mage? The one that Rank 5 in our past live had? Why? Isn't your Poison Mage class advancement stronger? You can evolve it to Corrosion Mage with a specific item." Ferin tilted her head slightly and looked at him confusedly while tilting her head slightly.

"True, but I prefer the Combo Mage class for a reason." He nodded his head before explaining, "Even if I get the Poison Mage class advancement, I will be vulnerable alone. And because I had you, and you planned to advance to Moon Fighter, I think we should both be focused on one thing. Either attacking and defending."

"I see." Ferin giggled lightly at him and smiled brightly as she understood what he meant. "Moon Fighter has high defense and good crowd control, but it lacks damage before the second advancement. Meanwhile, Combo Mage has high damage output with non-stop skill, but it lack defense."

"That's right. My build is better when combined with yours because I can take on an enemy while you take on a group of enemies. However, my weakness lies in the lack of defense. Combo Mage allows me to move around and use spell attacks easily when you're not here."

He explained further to her.

"So, Combo Mage is a better choice for me."

"Heehee~" She laughed softly at his reasoning before hugging him affectionately and nuzzled her head against his chest while smiling brightly. "Well said, At~ You're so smart. That's why you put everything to your MAG to increase your MP. It's something important to have as both Rune Mage or Combo Mage."

"Exactly." Atlas chuckled lightly and caressed her hair gently before planting a kiss on top of her head while hugging her back. "With the weapon bonus, my MAG is currently 64, with me having 640 MP. Even if I'm using my skills consecutively, I can still last long enough until you're back on your feet and support me."

"Because of this, I have no worries about teaming up with you."

Ferin giggled happily and smiled widely at him as she pulled away from the hug while nodding her head in understanding. "Alright~ We'll do that then! I'll become a Moon Fighter with the best possible equipment! Let's find your Hidden Quest now!"

"Right."

The couple continued walking through the streets of Rudina City together in search of a specific NPC. A middle-aged woman with long red hair in an alleyway. She was the one who held Atlas' hidden quest.

"Hello, may I help you with something?"

Atlas asked the typical question all players asked when they wanted to trigger an event.

The woman frowned at him and stared at him for a few seconds before responding with a slightly cold tone in her voice, "It's not obvious? I'm searching for something precious. It's very important."

'Great...'

Atlas' eyebrows twitched as he forced himself to keep his composure while answering calmly, "What are you looking for?"

"Something precious... and rare." The woman answered while glaring at him intensely before asking him back with an annoyed tone in her voice, "Why are you interested anyway?"

"My friend and me want to help you in finding that something precious." He replied seriously and stared into her eyes seriously with a determined expression on his face. "We need your guidance and information about that item you are seeking for."

"Is that so?" The red-haired woman smiled. "Do you even know who I am?"

This was the part where many players answered wrongly. To reach this point, they had to finish many quests, find clues, and convince the woman to open up about her secrets. This was the most important part of his hidden quest.

Still, if they answered that they knew her and answered with the correct answer, which was her name, then she would tell them the quest directly. But that quest would only lead them to an Extra Quest which didn't give them the hidden job advancement.

However...

"What I see is a woman in trouble. So, why won't you tell us the problem and we'll see if we can solve it." Atlas answered seriously with a confident expression on his face as he looked straight into the red-haired woman's eyes without hesitation.

This was what made Rank 5 player, the famous womanizer called BunBunBoy, manage to get the quest. He never called women by their names, unless he was interested in them. He only asked whether they needed help or not.

'And he said that to NPCs. I have done this quest before too, but I answered by her name, which was the mistake I made. Still, I managed to climb to Rank 2 while Ferin got Rank 3, so that was fine.' Atlas mused silently in his mind as he waited for the woman's response.

"Then I have no choice but to trust you." The woman sighed in resignation before saying with a serious tone in her voice, "I have lost my gloves which belonged to my father. It's an important heirloom of mine. And now I have searched for it everywhere. Maybe someone else found it instead of me."

"So, what do your gloves look like? Where did you last see them?" Atlas asked calmly while looking at the woman with a calm expression on his face, trying not to show any hint of surprise or excitement because he already knew what she was going to say.

"The gloves have a strange pattern on the surface of it, and it also emits a faint light on it. I think I lost it in this city when I was drinking alcohol in the tavern, but I'm not sure. Please find it for me. I'm counting on you."

[Ding! Hidden quest is generated!]

[Find Archmage Fyll's Gloves! She lost her gloves when she was drinking alcohol in a tavern somewhere in Rudina City.
