Another Day

In one of the tallest office buildings in the city center, the Diamond Building.

Valiant had just hoisted the bag onto his shoulder as he stepped out of his cubicle when Ilyana came over with a steaming cup of coffee in her hand. The young girl smiled warmly at the apprentice.

"Are you ready to go? Didn't wait for Mr. Jason?"

Val smiled. The young man in his twenties, thin and tall, makes the girl look up when he stands up straight. He was a dashing young man, with white flawless skin, cute smiles with bunny teeth and sweet dimples, blue hazel eyes, a perfect nose shape, and plumply peach lips. With a height of one hundred and eighty and a broad, athletic chest, the perfect body posture of any girl's dream.

"Boss might be busy, he didn't say anything. And looks like he has a meeting with the director this afternoon."

Ilyana turned to the office of their young manager, Jason, who was sitting opposite his secretary Ria, and seemed to be discussing quite an important matter inside.

"Well, I think so"

Jason's gaze shifted when he saw Val step through in front of his office. Ria followed her boss's gaze.

"Boss?"

Jason smiled. He shook his head.

"What? Val, he looks so excited. The other was so busy and he was asked to go to the city center alone to collect the questionnaire."

Ria smiled.

"Yeah, that is Val, full of excitement, you said you're going with him? Did you?"

Jason took a deep breath and leaned his tired shoulders back in his oversized General Manager's chair.

"Heh, just let him go alone, he's been here for more than two months, I don't think it's a problem anymore."

Ria smiled as Val joined as an intern in their office; Jason had been the most enthusiastic since then. Her boss has been very attentive to the twenty-year-old young man's performance, as he is still completing his degree during work hours. Besides being smart and agile, Val is also handsome, tall, and highly dedicated. It is not challenging to get respondents to agree to be interviewed; they tend to feel more at ease when Val approaches them.

Ria noticed striking similarities between her boss and Valiant Arcady; their body postures from behind were nearly identical. If she didn't know his boss, the sole grandchild of the main director, Mr. Garber, she might have mistaken Val for his younger brother, especially since Jason and Val were around eight years apart in age.

"What are you thinking?" Jason asked, stopping Ria from daydreaming, Ria smiled.

"Hehe, nothing, shall we continue, Boss?"

Jason frowned as he noticed Ria smiling to herself, seemingly lost in her thoughts. But he shrugged it off, thinking that all the girls in the snack company office, a division of his family's large company, did appear a bit peculiar.

 ,,,,

The wind blew softly.

The air that day was getting hotter and didn't show any signs of rain. It was so hot that the asphalt surface of the city's main roads seemed to be burning with smoke.

Not far between the skyscrapers and busy streets in the middle of the city, on a less busy connecting road.

Val had a little difficulty lifting the fruit box that was on the floor to the display case. The respondent is now a fruit shop owner, an old man.

"Oh grams, let me do it, why don't you tell the others to help you?"

"They're resting, besides, this old man is still strong."

Valiant looked at the slightly bent old man from his head to his feet.

"Who says that? You're an old man, if you've injured your waist it will be very fatal, it's hard to get back, and it will keep coming again."

The old man raised his hand to hit Val's head, who dodged quickly.

"This brat, did you curse me?"

Val laughed at the old man who was glaring at him.

"I was just saying!"

"This brat"

 ….

Soon after.

Val sat in front of the shop while enjoying his lunch, a bowl of noodles treated by the owner. The old man approached with a bottle of mineral water.

"Here"

Val smiled.

"Thank you, Grams. By the way, where are your kids? Don't they help you at the shop?" Val asked, the old man sighed.

"Those kids are busy working in the city, who thinks about coming home again? They're all grown up, most of them don't think about running a business like this, they say it's less profitable."

Val looked around, the shop was quite busy, there had been lots of transactions since he had been sitting there.

"Who said that? It's quite busy now."

"It's near the weekend. So far it's still pretty good, there's always income."

The old man turned to look at Val who was enjoying his food, and didn't realize that blood dripping out of his nose.

"This child, look at you, here, use it to wipe your nose"

Val received a piece of tissue from the old man. At first, he was confused as to why the old man suddenly gave him that.

"What for?"

The old man pointed at his nose. Val didn't realize it was bleeding until it dripped onto his lap.

"Ouch, another nosebleed," the young man hurriedly wiped the blood that wouldn't stop. He raises his head to try to stop the blood.

"Don't eat unhealthy foods, exercise more, kids nowadays are so weak" said the old man.

Val smiled.

"I always eat in the office canteen. Just sometimes out for dinner, I exercised too"

"Then why are you still getting such a nosebleed, maybe you should check yourself into the hospital"

"This is just a nosebleed, no need to the hospital, what a waste of money"

"This brat"
