Chapter 28 - A Lady's Decision

Maggie neither heard nor saw Percy for the next five days and five nights.

Meanwhile, the stream of gentlemen calling upon her had already stopped after only two days. She could only assume that news of her high demands had already made their rounds in London, with or without pamphlet.

Surely the gentlemen who found themselves unable to fulfill Maggie's demands restrained themselves from even calling upon her.

It would just be a waste of time, nothing less.

Today, Maggie was going to visit a good friend of hers from Cavendish Academy, Violet Dalcroft to have lunch together at the Dalcroft family's house.

As soon the carriage pulled up at the gate, Violet ran outside to welcome her.

"Maggie~!"

"Vee~!"

The two young ladies exchanged hugs right at the driveway.

"Oh, I missed you so much."

Violet dragged Maggie into her house.

"Come in, come in, no need to stand on ceremony."
