The world‘s End: Fate’s Trick

As Noah touches her shoulder, the silhouette turns into dust before his eyes. Voices echo in his head: "You let us die. You are our killer." Desperation overtakes him, and he screams, "NO! NO!" repeatedly, his cries reverberating through the ruins.

Yuri hears his screams and finds him. She grabs his arm, and he doesn't resist; he's completely broken. She brings him back to his room and tends to his injuries.

Several days pass. It's now day 29. Over two weeks have passed since Noah's mental breakdown. Although they haven't faced food shortages, the heavy labor is taking its toll on Yuri. Noah remains in bed, showing no signs of improvement. A few hours later, Yuri collapses in front of Noah. He looks at her briefly and then turns away. Yuri's vision blurs, and she passes out.

On day 31, Yuri wakes up. She isn't in her bed. In fact, she's not on a bed at all. Realizing Noah hadn't helped her, she feels a surge of anger for the first time. She looks up to see Noah in the same position. She yells, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? COULDN'T YOU SEE I NEEDED HELP? HOW LONG WAS I EVEN OUT FOR?" Realizing she lost her temper, she leaves the room to cool off.

Noah feels something for the first time in a while—guilt. The voices torment him again, but this time he breaks free from the chains and runs after Yuri. He finds her, panting, and says, "I'm sorry. I took my anger out on you even though you've only been helping me. Please forgive me." He kneels down.

Yuri, feeling sorry for yelling at him, knows his torment. Despite being only two years older, she matured quickly due to her past.

"It's fine. It happens. Just don't do it again, okay?" she says, her tone strict but with a smile, happy that he's back. She hugs him, and they finally enjoy a moment of peace in this unforgiving world.
