Chapter 9 - Gweneth Alxion
Ace shielded her with everything. The moment was so slow. Ace and the girl met eye to eye. The girl can see Ace protecting her from the falling books. After all the books have fallen, Ace quickly ask her if she alright.
"Are you alright?" Ace asked the girl
The girl was still dumbfounded on what happened in front of her.
"Uh.." the girl replied
"Are you hurt anywhere?" Ace quickly check her if she has any wounds on her
"I'm alright" the girl said to Ace
After the girl said that she was alright, for a few seconds they were both silent. It was a very awkward moment for the both of them. Both of them couldn't look each other eye to eye. Ace couldn't look at her because he doesn't know what to say.
"My name is Ace Lyzon." Ace said to her
"I know who you are" the girl replied to her
"What? I'm pretty famous huh" Ace said to her while waiting for her to laugh because of what he said but when she didn't he added "How did you my name?"
"I'm one of your classmates. My name is Gweneth Alxion" Gwen replied to Ace.
"Gwen? Classmate? Hmm? Are you sure you are my classmate because I haven't seen you attended even one the glasses before." Ace said to Gwen
"uh.. I don't really attend classes because I don't need to. I'm just here browsing some books to pass some time" Gwen replied
"So you're pretty smart huh" Ace said
It was not awkward as before since they both know that they have something in common. Like being classmates and everything. Even though Ace haven't seen her attend one of the lectures of Mr. Zay he didn't question her even once. Let's just say that Ace is pretty gullible.
"What were you doing here in the library anyway?" Gwen said to him "This is my first time seeing you here. You were always with those friends of yours." Gwen added
"Uh.. Mr. Zay tasked me to find some book here called 'Youth' and I'm trying to find someone to help me." Ace told her
"Oh that book. I think I saw that somewhere over there." Gwen said while pointing in the direction of the book where she have seen it
"Oh.. Over there? Okay." Ace said to her
"Come, I'll show you where it is. You might not be able to find it since its pretty hidden somewhere over there." Gwen said
"I'd be grateful if you do! I'll be in your care!" Ace said while bowing at her
"You don't need to. You saved me from those books so this is just me repaying you from that." Gwen replied to him
They both walked over to where she pointed the book was but it was nowhere to be found. They both pretty much search the entire library just to find the book but with no avail.
"Aaahh. Where is it?" Gwen said while cracking her neck because of tiredness
"Uh.. Maybe you didn't really see it.." Ace said to her "It's fine. I can just try to find it tomorrow." Ace added
"No. I said that I'll help you. It is somewhere over here, I promise." Gwen said while moving all the books aside trying to find it
"HERE!" Gwen said when she has found the book
"Oh, it was really over there" Ace said while smiling happily
"I told you that it was right over there." Gwen said to him while rolling her eyes at him.
"I'm sorry that I didn't believe you, Madam." Ace said to her teasingly
"Madam? Want me to beat you up?" Gwen said and they both laugh together
They both spent more that an hour trying to find the book. It was around 3pm now and the next class was probably about to start. Since it was Mr. Zay task Ace didn't really care if he missed one of his lectures. Gwen doesn't attend his class either so both of them were in the clear.
"What is this book about anyway?" Ace said
"Hmm, I haven't read it either. But I heard it was about some senior high school kids living their lives like there is no tomorrow." Gwen said
"Hmm.. Why did he even task me with this." Ace mumbled to himself
"Want to read this with me?" Ace asked her
"Hmmm. I don't know. Are you trying to pass me your work?" Gwen replied to Ace
"What? HAHAHA. Noo! You probably can understand this book better than me that is why I invited you. You also haven't read this book so this is your chance" Ace said while winking at her
"Shut up, Ace." Gwen said to him and then she laughed and she walked away
Ace didn't know what to say and he was just standing there awkwardly. Gwen looked back at him and saw him just standing her. She gestures him to come.
"Me?" Ace said while pointing at himself
"No, that guy behind you" Gwen said sarcastically
Ace looked behind him and saw no one and then he heard Gwen laugh again at him
"Yes you, you idiot. Come here, you want to read it with me you said to come." Gwen said to him
Ace quickly walked towards her and they both sat on the chairs facing each other.
"Why are you sitting over there?" Gwen said "You said you want me to read it with you. How can I read the book when you are facing me?" Gwen added
Ace quickly stand up and walked around and sat beside her. Both of them were pretty close with each other now. There was no awkwardness in the air.
Both of them started reading the book and was having fun with each other side by side. After a couple of hours of reading they both stopped and Ace ask Gwen if she was hungry.
