A spendthrift

3RD POV

************************

A lifeless body hung from the chains attached to the ceiling. It had not a single piece of clothing, yet one couldn't see an inch of its skin for blood and cuts were its acquired clothing.

At its feet, a pool of blood that seemed to be enlarging shimmered as the stray rays of sunlight met it.

A long heavy sigh was emitted by the second naked body that stood in front of the corpse, also covered by blood from the very hair of his head to his toes.

He tossed the bloody dagger somewhere on the floor and turned around.

"I hate stupidity," Ilay breathed walking towards the woman bound on a chair.

Tears were coming from her horrified eyes and her heart was racing beyond its capability. A little more of this horror and it'd burst right through its cages.

"Now then," Ilay lowered himself on the chair facing the terrified woman whose mouth was gagged and limbs tied to her chair by a harsh rope. "I heard you're the messenger, hm?"

She gave a frantic nod, dense fear thinning the walls of her chest after the gruesome scene she had just witnessed.

"How cooperative. If you had answered my questions from the start, your little accomplice wouldn't have died. But then again," he brought the back of his hand to his mouth and ran his tongue on the blood covering his skin, "I wouldn't have had this much fun."

Her eyes grew fierce as fear and rage mixed. She cursed him inwardly, wishing a bullet would fly right through his thick head and wipe him from the world. They were right, she thought. They had said he was a lunatic with a blood lust. She wished her mother had killed him when he was just a baby.

"Don't glare at me Nicky love, your mother should have told you how costly it is to betray our family... No, that's not right." Ilay smirked evilly, "She should have warned you not to betray me, Ilay Konstantinovich Volkov. The next Czar of Drakon."

Nicky's eyes widened even further. She always felt that the Volkovs were more than the upright business moguls the rest of the world saw and knew. But to learn of such a secret at a delicate moment as this only made her brain cells scatter further.

She had only agreed to the masked woman's request in exchange for some shares in Blaze Corporation.

It had sounded like an easy job; infiltrate Ilay's house as a worker and be the link between the mysterious woman and Ilay's wife, Aya. Nobody had informed her that Ilay was related to one of the four big mafia organizations in the world.

She watched him pick up the burner phone of the shabby little table that stood between them. All along, praying to whoever was listening to spare her a horrible death. If she was to die, which now seemed certain, she wanted to have a quick death. The screams of horror her partner had let out were still echoing in her chest and soul even minutes after he breathed his last.

"...doing what?"

Silence.

"Mmm..." Ilay got up from his chair and walked over to the small window that was bringing in light. "Let her be. I'll take care of it personally. Just don't get in her way too much or I'll have to cut off your fingers this time."

Silence.

"Yes. Okay."

And the call ended, followed by a loud deep laugh which had Ilay doubling over. "Oh Kally, do you miss me this much?"

He then straightened, his little break done with. Now it was time to get back to serious business. A business that indirectly involved Kally Summer, his little fresh toy.

KALLY'S POV

********************************

I took a sip of a ten-thousand-dollar cocktail, hesitant because of my dislike for alcohol.

"Is it okay spending money like this?" Hailey questioned from the other side of the table on the VIP section I had booked hours prior.

"I mean, he might be rich, but don't you think we're wasting money at such a place like this?"

I shook my head, swallowing the tangy liquid. It scorched its way down my throat, letting me absorb its taste. And goddamn, I wanted to rip my throat out and flush it down the toilet.

The cocktail tasted like chaos and misery blended and sprinkled with a bit of death.

I gagged to the side, tears forming below my eyeballs.

It reminded me just how much I still hated alcohol. I had bought it since it was among the expensive drinks on the menu tonight. All just to drain Ilay's card after I had spent a solid twenty grand during the day buying expensive jewelry that I would never wear.

"Kally, are you okay?" Hailey's concern was warm.

I looked up, smiling amidst my teary eyes.

"I'm good. You should drink this." I pushed the glass in her direction to stand next to her half-empty one. "You said you like the taste... I hate it."

"Not like you ever do drink. You should have ordered something sweet and-"

"Don't worry about me. Just drink up. If you want more, let me know."

She gave a small nod while wearing a thin smile. "You'll be in trouble if this goes on."

I laughed relaxing my muscles. If she knew how much I had gone through mentally, she'd force me to spend every dime Ilay owned. But spilling any of my dark secrets to her would only endanger her.

Since he had been generous as to give me the card, I had to make the most of it.

Now all I had to do to mark the night a success was to find a random stranger and make out with them.

I pushed my body off the seat, life brimming from my face and heart. "I'll live my best life as much as I can!" I declared at the air, attracting a few gazes from the other VIPs.

"What's up with you? You're acting quite strange."

"I'm fine. I've never felt this fine in a while. Just enjoy your drinks, I'll be right back."

Waiting not for her response, I whisked myself out of there and headed straight for the exit.

Two minutes later, I joined the louder and more vibrant section...the dance floor.

The music booming.

The bodies moving.

Everything felt just perfect to celebrate my half-freedom. Before the fucked up turn-up of events a month ago, I had never concerned myself too much with such places. But now that my life could be taken away from me at any second he pleased, I had to try everything a girl my age would.

Dressed in a tempting figure-hugging red mini-dress, I started going with the flow.

My hands were thrown in the air like the rest of these clubbers dancing and my head swung side to side wildly until I got dizzy.

Alien hands began snaking my waist from the back. They got bolder when I didn't spin around and smack them.

Tonight was all about having fun and tormenting Ilay's money for any crap I laid eyes on.

I swayed my hips, rubbing my ass on the man's crotch till I felt his thing hardening.

I didn't stop. I didn't want to stop.

Maybe it was the sip from earlier, but my body felt like it was starting to move on its own.

Slowly, I began growing tired and my head slumped back on the man's chest.

"Exhausted already?" They asked in my ear for audibility.

"Yah!" I yelled over the music, and then, my insides suddenly went numb as if someone had poured a bucket of freezing water on me. That voice!

I stared down at the large slender hands. I would recognize them even if they were crushed to dust.

"I-I-Ilay?"

He chuckled against my neck. "Don't stop now. I was just starting to enjoy myself."

How?

Why?

When?
