Chapter six

I opened my eyes feeling light headed and the first thing that greeted me was that of concerned eyes, curious eyes and confused eyes. I was in the office sick room, the nurse had checked on me and told them it's normal pregnancy experience. Good, very good, now everyone knows am pregnant, I thought to myself mockingly.

"So Ms attitude is a whore, acting all high and mighty. Your resume didn't say you were married. Steve, that's what I was trying to explain to you, she might have trapped you with that thing" Mandy said referring to my baby. Anger I didn't know coursed through my veins.

" Swear that you are a virgin. If you sleep around and aren't called a whore who gave you the right to call someone a whore. Two faced moron, atleast I have the guts and empathy to keep the baby, do you or would you keep a baby, do you dare, do you have that courage. Shame on you, the biggest problem in our world is women keep trying to tear other women down. Shame on you" I told Mandy.

Steven walked out of the sick room, I don't know what emotion was going in his mind but his action just fueled Mandy's ego. " Thank God Steve atleast now know what kind of a woman you are and has chosen to stay away from you, it's the best thing that could happen this day" Mandy said with a scoff.

" Who said that, you are absolutely wrong, I didn't go out of anger or because I didn't want anything to do with ruby, I just remembered yesterday when we were walking home she was craving for spicy and cheesy chips, so I went to get it for her in the cafeteria. This revelation only made me have more respect for her" Steven said and walked towards me.

" Here, eat this and please if you do need anything else just tell me I would get it for you" Steven said. I felt so warm by his action and I couldn't help a small smile.

" Steven despite what you have learned about her you still care for her, what in the world is wrong with you, why are you so naive and foolish" Mandy asked with anger.

" If you have no nice word, get out, it's non of your concern who I chose to care for and who I choose not to care about. The sooner you understand it, the better" Steven said.

" I will tell my brother you two would regret this" Mandy said and walked out throwing tantrums. Apart from her everyone acted caring towards me. Ofcourse they are some lackeys of Mandy who threw hateful comments but who cares, atleast I don't.

One lady even offered to take care of my work while I rest. It felt nice to have people who cares for you, but am still cautious, after all am not over the betrayal and heartbreak I suffered from Thomas and kaida.

The day end up relatively well, and Steven got even nicer. However the next day, I was summoned for a board of directors meeting with the high authorities, Mandy and Steve.

I was unfazed, I knew I was on the right so no one could intimidate me and I walked into the hall with my chin up asserting confidence. They were a total of 12 members in the board of directors typical of most private organizations, they all looked displeased but I kept my smiling face, the 3 of us were asked to sit and I sat down and crossed my legs giving the boss aura.

A man spoke up, and if I guessed correctly he should be Mandys brother because he looked every bit like her minus the hair color. " Ms ruby Flynn, we got information that on your first day of work you bullied your co-worker Mandy Anderson and on the second day, you beat her up, what do you have to say about that" the man Mr Anderson asked.

" Mr Anderson, with all due respect this isn't even a topic for conversation, which new worker on their right senses would bully another worker on day one, it simply doesn't make sense. It's either your source of information is twisted or you want to twist facts to protect your sister" I said.

I could hear gasps of surprise from the other members and small murmurs, a woman spoke up, " Ms flynn, aren't you been rude to a board of director, this isn't ethical and it's a prove you can be a bully" she said.

I looked her in the eye and replied with a smile, " the truth is always bitter ma, if you want to draw conclusions on a one sided story, then you aren't been fair, you are reputed for been the top company in the country for a reason, if you chose to lose your employees because of unfair judgement you would drop to level zero". I could see her nerves tensing.

Another man spoke up " since you said it's one sided judgement, why don't you tell us your own side of the story" another man spoke up. "Do you want verbal argument, or do you want evidence, whichever it is I can provide you with it, but the truth here is that you have to take action against Ms Mandy Anderson here because she is the real bully" I said.

I went ahead to show them the evidence I got of all the girls who quit work because of Mandy's bullying, I also showed them all the CCTV footage of how she bullied the other girls and what happened between us. I could see Mr Anderson's jaw tightening, Mandy was seething with anger but I didn't care while Steven looked proud.

They asked us to wait outside for a while, while they discuss the issue at hand before giving their verdict.
