He Had Come Back To Her Bed

Kael burst through the palace doors, exhaustion etched on his face. After spending the night battling the rogue and the Sorgord, a relentless fight that had drained him physically and mentally then still running hard in his beast form so that he could arrive as soon as possible he was bone tired.

Yet, a sense of urgency propelled him forward. He had to see Naiari immediately and he had to apologize for his absence, for his being a coward and running from her. He had to assure her of his feelings.

He swore under his breath that he would never leave her side again.

As he entered the palace, he encountered Arlo waiting for him as if he had known that he would be coming. Arlo's gaze was stern, his expression disapproving and disappointed l.

"You have a lot to answer for, young king," Arlo said, his voice low and annoyed. "You left your mate all alone on her wedding night, what do you have to say about that."
