She Had Grown A Spine

Naiari stirred, her eyelids fluttering. Kael's heart pounded with excitement. He leaned in, his voice barely a whisper, "Naiari?"

Her eyes slowly opened, meeting his gaze. A soft smile graced her lips. "Kael," she murmured, her voice weak but filled with love.

Kael's heart soared. He had never felt such joy. He pulled her into his arms, his embrace gentle yet possessive. "You are awake," he murmured, his voice filled with relief.

Naiari nodded, her eyes still heavy with sleep. "How long was I out for?" she asked.

"Three days," Kael replied. "You must have been very tired."

"I am sorry," she apologized. "I must have worried you."

Kael shook his head. "Don't worry about that, my love. What is important is that you are safe now."

Kael's joy knew no bounds. He immediately summoned Arlo, who came up and looked very surprised when he saw Naiari seated on the bed.
