I Have A Daughter?

The woman held the child in her arms tightly, forgetting for a second that the child was already wriggling in her arms. It looked in pain but she paid no attention to her for a second.

Her eyes searched for the door. The air was heavy with the scent of antiseptic as she crossed corridors.

"Are you sure?" she held the phone on the other hand tightly. Her heart was pounding so loud that it was hard for her to listen to the side.

The child, with her wide curious eyes, looked up at the only family she had. Sensing her tension, she tried to endure the pain thinking that it might be her mistake. A calm voice came from the other side.

They began to walk, their footsteps echoing in the quiet corridor. As they approached the sixth floor, the woman took a deep breath and held the door.

"Excuse me, I am here to see my son. His name is …."

—--------------------

"Harder! Faster." the voice around him started to blur or they started to clear. Yun Seok did not know anymore. All he could feel was his head was going to shatter.

The last image where he had unleashed his power to the brim and killed all of them. Those he called brother and family flashed passed his dark eyes and his chest tightened.

Wait? He had a chest? He did not remember feeling his body for a long time. After he had cultivated to the level of….. He had stopped feeling the sensations.

He forced his eyes to open when he felt someone was hammering his head. The whisper started to clear this time and he opened his eyes to see a man and two women standing in front of him.

They were leaning over him so that they could do something to him. He blinked again and this time, he was able to notice the plain white ceiling. The smell of antiseptics and medicines wafted into his nose and slowly other things around him.

He was in the hospital of what looked like earth to him. The image came out from his fading memories that shocked him to no limit.

"Where am i?" these could be the most foolish words of his lifetime. But the man was kind enough to offer him a smile.

"You are in …. Hospital. I am a doctor .... I have been treating you for the past three years." three years?

The word rang like a bell and it came to him at once. He remembered living on earth three years ago. But it had been a long time since he had faced that accident and his soul had received a new body in the other realm. There… he gulped and shook his head.

Now was not the time to immerse himself in his miseries and resent his life. He needed to concentrate.

"You mean I have been in the hospital for three years?" the voice did not sound shocked like before. But it had gained strange calmness and worried the doctor.

He looked at the nurse behind him and slowly nodded.

"Yes, we have tried our best to bring you out of your unconsciousness. Though… It is a miracle that you came out of your coma. We would not lie, we have given up hopes a long ago. It was the sheer will of your mother that we have not closed the ventilator." He explained to Yun Seok kindly, thinking that the man was still confused about his reality but he took a step back instinctively when Yun Seok's eyes squinted with an icy look.

But Yun Seok looked away instantly realizing that he had scared the doctor.

"And how is my condition now?" he remembered that he had lost a lot of blood and he was weak when he returned here.

Could it be that death was the cause of his soul to shift dimensions? He had already experienced it twice but he still could not understand the trigger behind it well.

He would have tried killing himself again but did he even want to return there? What was left? Since his brothers had already turned their back on him, would it not be better if he never returned?

Not to forget that they would suffer greatly in his absence. This would be an apt revenge.

"Your condition is much better. Your pulse is stable and your heart is working better. Your body did not look like it was in a vegetative state but it worked much better than a normal man." The doctor shifted his glasses and read the files again.

It was hard for him to accept it. He had never seen something like this before.

The man looked so cold and gloomy while he should be bewildered.

But he had no idea how the Yun Seok had already sorted out his thoughts. And now he was planning his next course of action. For once, his mind was blank. Telling him that he did not want to do anything.

"By the way, we have already informed your family. They would be here any moment." family? The words bewildered him after a long time. He looked at the doctor with a deep frown.

Just then the door opened and an anxious voice echoed in the room,

"Excuse me, I am here to see my son." a woman in her early sixties/ late fifties opened the door with trembling hands. Her trembling eyes and anxious face looked at the man on the bed with relief and worry at the same time.

While the man's eyes flickered for a second when he saw his mother. He had thought.. He shook his head. So he had come back to earth, to his old life. As the dark clouds started to fade, his eyes fell on the young child in the arms of his mother and his eyes widened for a second.

When was the last time when he had been so shocked.

"Mother! Did you get married again? And at this age? He wanted to add but he did not want to embarrass his mother in front of everyone.

He did not know that a woman could give birth at this age. But then, his mother had been lonely. She deserved a second change in her life. So he would accept it and congratulate her for her new life. He should already be grateful that she had fought the doctors for keeping him alive.

His mother's lips twitched as she heard him. But her emotions were like a broken dam. She was in no condition to react to the foolish statement. She entered with hurried steps and discussed his condition with the doctors.

The little girl in her arms blinked and looked at the man on the bed. She had seen this man so many times. They visit this hospital daily. But this was the first time that the man was awake and talking to them. She felt a burst of happiness and something her tender age did not understand.

She wriggled in the arms of the old woman. The old woman who was so immersed in the conversation, let her go without a worry. The little girl ran with her tiny legs toward the bed. The small distance fell too long for her small stature yet she beamed with joy as she held the sleeves of the man.

"Papa! You are awake!"
