"Thank you...Now, I need you two to bring Lady Danbury here." Wolfgang replied.
"WHAT?!" The Teaton siblings shouted.
"Calm down, I know this is an unusual favor to ask, I just need her help, I feel like Lady Danbury might be able to help Safa overcome her current state." Wolfgang replied.
"How is Lady Danbury going to be of any help?! As far as I can understand, Doesn't Safa despise the woman?" James asked, "Yes! Because of her she had to use the wheelchair again!" Clara backed her brother.
Sighing, "Believe me, if I didn't think she might be of help, I wouldn't have asked for her.
I'm well aware of Safa's dislike for Lady Danbury although I don't think Safa dislikes the woman to the point of despise as you've mentioned, and I believe so because there's something Safa has told me about concerning lady Danbury's first and last visit here." Wolfgang explained.
Skeptical, "Really, and what did she say?" James asked.
"Apparently and even though she was being asked to leave, Lady Danbury has told Safa that if she ever needed a friend, or someone like a mother figure, she can turn to lady Danbury for help.
Because of that offer, Safa seems to believe she was a little cruel in her way of treating Lady Danbury..." Wolfgang replied.
"I see..." Clara said, "Do you really think, this is what Safa needs at the moment?"
"I hope so...Safa has been spiraling out of control lately, it started since the day she met Lady Danbury and things began to get worse when Fabian entered the picture." Wolfgang replied.
"Alright then, I'll go meet Lady Danbury and see if she's interested to help, but it's for the best if Clara remain here." James states.
"I was hoping that you'd take Clara with you so she wouldn't be bored on her own again considering that I'll be busy with Safa.
It's Sunday, there's no one but us and the animals.
And perhaps it's more appropriate for Clara to be talking to Lady Danbury than you...." Wolfgang replied.
"To be honest...I don't really want to talk to her...Lady Danbury I mean, for some reason I feel like meeting her would be too much for me." Clara spoke-up.
"I agree, besides...Lady Danbury from what I know has a charming persona, it's best if I talk and explain the situation for her than Clara." James said, "Wolf, let Clara stay, maybe Safa might need her at some point, and it's safer for her to stay here anyways.
If she's not needed in any way, she can just read books in the Library or keep Denver and that cat company." He added.
"Yes! I've been meaning to play with Acacius today! I don't know what I did wrong yesterday that he tried to scratch me, but today I'm determinate to make him love me!" Clara said with an adamant smile.
Sighing again in defeat, "Fine then, Since you wish to go alone, can I trust you with another favor? Can you go to the Struat's estate first and let Fabian know he shouldn't come by? Since Safa has warned him not to come early yesterday, you'll be sure to find him still in his home." Wolfgang replied.
"As you wish, I will rely your message, count on me, Wolf darling." James said with a cheeky smile as he grabbed Wolfgang's still bandaged hand before gently planting a kiss on it.
Blushing, "Don't 'Darling' me, and make sure to be safe on your way." Wolfgang replied snatching his hand back.
"Aww, are you worried about me love?" James asked making Clara's snigger with him.
"Don't test me unless you want your ear to be pulled again!" Wolfgang threatened.
Sheepishly, "Whatever you say, darling~" James said chuckling happily before he quickly stole a kiss from a surprised Wolfgang's lips and ran off so he wouldn't be caught by the blushing manservant.
"THIS MAN?! YOUR SISTER WAS RIGHT HERE! HAVE SOME DECENCY!" An embarrassed Wolfgang shouted after his escaping lover, while Clara laughing her heart out at them.
...Some minutes later...
In the drawing room, and As he placed a small basket that was furnished with a fluffy cushion next to Clara on the sofa, "I just checked on Denver, he remains soundly asleep in my room, seems like he is yet still tired from all the playing he did yesterday." Wolfgang said chuckling.
"I guess that leaves me with our new baby kitten." Clara said smiling happily as she glanced at the cat sleeping peacefully on top of the cushion inside the basket.
"Yes, please make sure not to irritate him, he will try to scratch you again, for some reason it seems that Safa is the only one he wouldn't scratch." Wolfgang replied.
Giggling, "Hehe, isn't that a sign he likes her?" She asked.
"I don't know...honestly I'm still surprised, she quickly decided to keep him yesterday." He said.
"Let's be honest here! You manipulated her into keeping him, didn't you Wolfgang?"
"More or less."
"Aha! I knew it!"
"Whatever you say Clara." Wolfgang said rolling his eyes, "Now, I'll be back to taking care of Safa, do you think you can manage Acacius at least until James is back?
You'll only have to give him some milk once he's awake."
"Absolutely! I took care of multiple little children growing up, taking care of a baby kitten should be an easy task." Clara replied.
"Good, I'm counting in you, and don't get injured!" Wolfgang said before he started walking away.
Clara who had already brought Bernardino's memoir book with her, smiled again at the sleeping ball of furry besides her before she opened the book to read more.
Wolfgang on the other hand, hurried outside to see James off before he goes on his mission, "James!"
He found the man about to mount his horse, "Wolf, did I forget anything?" James asked.
Blushing, "Uh...no, I just wanted to...see you off." Wolfgang replied.
"Aren't you adorable?" James chuckled.
"You're taking the horse today? Why not take a carriage?" Wolfgang asked.
"Oh Yes, I just well...it was good thinking of me to bring only my horse yesterday, I don't need a carriage that much anymore with Clara living here, besides with my horse, I'll finish my business quicker than with a carriage." James replied, "But you didn't really come here to talk to me about the horse, did you Wolf?
After all you should be by Safa's side, but the fact that you're here with me, tells me something is really worrying you." He added.
Sighing, "Sharp...well, Yes! I didn't come here to wonder about your method of traveling, it's about Safa actually." Wolfgang said.
"Are you worried about the whole courting thing?"
"I just cannot understand...why did this happen?"
"I must apologize, yesterday I wasn't much of help to you, Hadn't it been for my neediness, you would've had time to converse with Safa and understand what happened yesterday." James said.
"It wasn't your fault, she didn't wish to speak about it yesterday, I couldn't force her to explain anything...but maybe now I can." Wolfgang replied.
"Maybe...Wolf, Don't you think something was odd about The way Safa treated Fabian?"
"You mean how come she didn't kill him for asking to court her?"
"Yes?! Aside from her raging about his shooting skills, Safa not only agreed to bet with Fabian, but she was nicer than you would've think to him, she often complimented him and remember how she was able to pull him out of his misery during the funeral day.
She says her interest in him is purely scientific...but what if?" James asked.
"You're right...I think Safa might some sort of feelings towards Fabian.
Please don't let her know that I told you, but she told me about her nightmare!" Wolfgang replied.
Surprised, "Are you sure you want to tell me about something so sensitive, or did last night's fun made you throw any sense of loyalty you have for Safa out of the window?" James joked so Wolfgang hit him Lightly on his arm.
"Ow?!"
Frowning, "Shut it I didn't even hit you that hard!" Wolfgang replied.
"This is abuse!"
"Abuse my arse! Do you want to help Safa or not?!" Wolfgang said angrily.
"Fine! Tell me what her nightmare was about?! I promise my lips are sealed." James replied.
...Meanwhile...
Smiling, "Young master! You're up early, I take it you're excited to go to the Vega manor?" Gertrude asked as soon as Fabian left his room,
Fabian was surprised to see her standing outside his room with what seems to be a basket of toiletries, "Gertie! Good morning, Are you not going to church?" Fabian asked.
"Today we have an important matter to attend to, as your chaperone I must accompany you from now on everytime you go to Lady Vega's house.
But considering that she has recommended that you don't come early, we have time to prepare you!"
"Prepare me?"
"Your looks of course! You need to dress well, your hair needs to be tidied up too, and last but not Least, this is your first time attempting to court, you need to learn some manners concerning such practice!" Gertrude replied with a big smile before she began dragging a confused Fabian with her.
"Where are you taking me?!" Fabian asked, "To bathe, obviously you will bathe yourself unless you want me to help." Gertrude said.
Blushing, "What?! No of course not! I am a grown man, I am capable of bathing myself thank you!" Fabian replied.
"Good!" Gertrude said before she shoved the basket in the man's arms, "Go on! Clean yourself, you smell rotten from all the dancing you did yesterday." She added sheepishly smirking then hurried away from him.
Baffled, "This woman is unbelievable?!" Fabian said and started to sniff him, "I do not even smell that bad?!"
...An hour or so later...
Waiting for his hair to dry completely, Fabian stood in his room debating which attire he shall dress in today, they were all newly tailored clothes just for him.
Suddenly, Gertrude knocked on his room door, "COME IN!" He shouted for her to hear.
"Young master..." A worried looking Gertrude came into the room, "Can you help me pick what to wear, I wish not to wear something that does not suit me, and I think a woman's touch is what I need to impress Safa." Fabian said.
"Uh young master ..I regret to inform you, that you wouldn't be doing much impressing today." Gertrude replied.
"Whatever do you mean?!" Fabian was perplexed, he turned to look at her and she avoided his eyes.
"Lord Teaton was here a minute ago, he came with a message from Wolfgang, Asking you not to come today."
"A message? Did something happen? Has Safa fallen ill?"
"He didn't explain, just said that you can't go to see Safa." Gertrude replied.
"But She promised!"
"To he fair, she promised you the entirety of spring, It's few days from now."
"But she made it clear she had no issue of me coming to see her today?!" Fabian argued.
Angry, "Instead of being a fussy little boy about it, why don't you take today's opportunity to enjoy your hobbies or go on a walk in the park! You can't expect to find Safa available just for you every single day!
She could fall ill, she could go to visit someone, she could have work to do, a life to tend to! She could drop dead for crying out loud?! Just because you're going to be courting her from now on, DOESN'T MEAN SHE SUDDENLY HAS TO LIVE HER LIFE ACCORDING TO YOUR SELFISH NEEDS?!" Gertrude bursted.
Shocked, "I understand?! No need to yell about it?!" Fabian replied.
Realizing she exploded in Fabian's Face, "Forgive me." An embarrassed Gertrude rushed outside the room leaving Fabian standing there in complete shock.
