A Normal Day with the Rose Family

Chapter: 29

March 4, 2011, 8:00 AM

The morning sun filtered through the large kitchen windows, casting a warm glow over the Rose family home. Adrian sat at the kitchen island, sipping his coffee while scrolling through the news on his tablet. Next to him, Anafabula sipped her green tea, her presence serene and comforting.

Across the kitchen, Camile stood next to Hye-Jin Park, guiding her through the process of cooking breakfast. Hye-Jin listened intently, her focus on getting every detail right. Camile, usually composed, seemed slightly nervous, her feelings for Hye-Jin bubbling beneath the surface.

Yog-Sothoth and Shub-Niggurath entered the kitchen, their otherworldly presence almost blending into the normalcy of the scene.

"Morning," Yog-Sothoth greeted, his tone casual.

"Good morning," Adrian replied, looking up from his tablet with a smile. "How did you sleep?"

"Quite well, thank you," Shub-Niggurath answered, taking a seat at the table.

Camile glanced nervously at Adrian, aware of his perceptive nature. He caught her eye and gave a teasing smile, knowing well the emotions she was trying to hide. As Hye-Jin focused on her cooking, Adrian leaned over to Camile.

"Need any help with that, Camile?" Adrian asked, his voice low enough for only her to hear. "Or perhaps with something else on your mind?"

Camile's eyes widened slightly, and she shook her head vigorously. "No, I'm fine. Just teaching Hye-Jin how to make breakfast."

Adrian chuckled softly. "Alright, just checking. It's important to share your feelings, you know."

Camile shot him a warning look, but there was a hint of a smile on her lips. She turned her attention back to Hye-Jin, trying to focus on the task at hand.

"Morning, everyone," Sigurrós greeted as she walked into the kitchen, her hair still tousled from sleep in her hair was the True Dragon Adrian had created.

"Morning Sigurrós, Xylaris. " Adrian said

"Morning."

"Morning, Sigurrós," Anafabula said with a gentle smile. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, I did," Sigurrós replied, taking a seat next to Anafabula. "What's for breakfast?"

"We're having pancakes," Camile answered, flipping one onto a plate. "Hye-Jin is learning how to make them."

"They smell delicious," Sigurrós said, inhaling deeply.

As the family settled into their morning routine, the sense of normalcy was comforting.

**3:00 PM**

Adrian was sitting on his couch watching TV, Anafabula's head resting comfortably on his lap. The rest of the household members were scattered around the living room, engaging in various activities. Sigurrós was curled up with a book and Xylaris was in her hair, while Yog-Sothoth and Shub-Niggurath were having a quiet conversation.

Camile and Hye-Jin were sitting at the dining table, working on a puzzle together. Camile stole occasional glances at Hye-Jin, her feelings still carefully hidden. Adrian, ever observant, noticed her glances and decided to tease her a bit more.

"You know, Camile," Adrian said, not taking his eyes off the TV, "you might want to focus on the puzzle instead of something... or someone else."

Camile shot him a sharp look, but Hye-Jin was too engrossed in the puzzle to notice. "Focus on your own business, my Lord," she retorted, trying to keep her voice light.

"Oh don't be like that," Adrian said with a chuckle.

Anafabula chuckled softly, her eyes still closed. "He's just trying to help, Camile. Maybe you should listen to him."

Camile rolled her eyes but couldn't help the smile that tugged at her lips. "I'll think about it."

The tranquil atmosphere was suddenly interrupted by a loud boom in the distance. Everyone in the room froze, their senses immediately on high alert.

"What was that?" Sigurrós asked, her book forgotten.

"An idiot most likely," Yog-Sothoth answered.

"Most likely indeed," Adrian said. "Sang-Min Kwon, Lilia Everett," Adrian called out.

Sang-Min Kwon and Lilia Everett appeared behind Adrian, wearing a butler and maid attire respectively.

"My Lord," they both said.

"Go investigate what happened what happened."

"Understood my lord," they replied in unison.

As Sang-Min and Lilia Vanished , Adrian and the rest of the household remained on edge, ready for anything. The peaceful day had taken a sudden turn, and they knew that the unexpected often brought danger.

'And things were just becoming peaceful too.' Adrian thought with a sigh.

3:15 PM

Sang-Min and Lilia returned, their expressions serious.

"My Lord," Sang-Min began, "it appears there was an explosion nearby. We found evidence suggesting the involvement of The Children of the Scarlett King."

Adrian's eyes narrowed. "The Children of the Scarlett King? Here in Jamaica?"

"Yes, my Lord," Lilia confirmed. "It seems they were conducting an operation in the area."

"I see. You may return to your posts."

"Yes, Sir." They both said, bowing before vanishing.

Adrian stood up, his demeanor shifting from relaxed to commanding.

"Camile, Hye-Jin, Charlotte, and Henry," Adrian called out.

Camile and Hye-Jin stopped what they were doing, and Charlotte and Henry appeared behind him.

"My Lord," they spoke.

"Let's go." Adrian said neutrally

"Where to, my Lord?" Charlotte asked.

Darkness washed over Adrian's body and, when it faded away, revealed him in his black suit with the Crucifix on his back.

"To meet our uninvited guest," he said, his eyes glowing faintly.
