Daemon woke up early, still reflecting on the night before. Today he would have training with Daemian's father. After greeting his parents and enjoying a nutritious breakfast, he headed to the house of his best friend, Damián, to continue his training.
Upon arrival, he was warmly received by Damián and his family. "Hello, Lady Elara," Daemon greeted respectfully, bowing his head slightly. "Hello, Damian. Hello, Erika."
"Good morning, Daemon," Elara replied with a smile. "Priest is waiting for you in the courtyard."
"Come on, Daemon," Damian said enthusiastically, leading him towards the training yard.
"Good morning, Daemon," Priest greeted with a smile. "Today we are going to discover what elements you have an affinity for. This is crucial for your future training."
Daemon was excited. He had already learned the basics of magic and created small flames under Priest's guidance, but today they would delve deeper into his elemental potential.
"Remember Daemon as I told you before," Priest continued, "there are four main elements in magic: air, fire, water and earth. In addition, there are composite elements that arise from the combination of these, such as ice, which results from the combination of water and air. Today, we are going to discover your elemental affinity."
"Okay, Daemon," Priest said as he pulled out a set of different colored crystals. "These crystals will react to your magical energy and tell us what elements you have an affinity for. Take your time and concentrate."
Daemon took a deep breath and focused on the crystals. He spread his hands over them and closed his eyes, focusing on channeling magical energy from it. The crystals began to shine with different intensities and colors.
Priest watched intently as the air, fire, and water crystals shone brightly, brighter than any other. "Interesting," he muttered to himself before speaking out loud. "Daemon, you have an affinity for three elements: air, fire, and water. This is quite unusual, especially for a human."
Daemon opened his eyes, surprised and excited. "Is that good, Mr. Priest?"
"It's more than good," Priest responded with an approving smile. "It is extremely rare. Most people only have an affinity for one or two elements. Having an affinity for three elements gives you incredible potential. Elves usually have multiple affinities, but in humans it is very rare."
"Amazing, Daemon!" Damian exclaimed from his seat, clearly impressed.
Erika, Damián's sister, also smiled with admiration. "You are going to be very powerful, Daemon. I am sure of it."
Priest nodded and continued. "Now, Daemon, we are going to practice with these elements. I want you to focus on channeling each one separately and then we will try to combine them. Practice and control are key."
Daemon spent the rest of the morning training under Priest's guidance. First, he practiced controlling the air, creating small gusts of wind and then manipulating them with precision. However, he had difficulty maintaining the stability of the wind, and more than once, the gusts became uncontrolled, sending leaves and dust flying in all directions.
Priest walked over and patted him on the shoulder. "Don't worry, Daemon. Air is a capricious element and difficult to master at first. Keep practicing."
Then, he focused on the fire. This time, Daemon felt more confident and managed to light small flames in his palm with relative ease. He increased and decreased the intensity of the flames, and even tried to shape them, although without much success. However, he felt that he had more control over this element.
Finally, he worked with water. Here, the problems were even greater. Daemon attempted to create a sphere of water, but his control was unstable. In one of his attempts, the sphere exploded, soaking him and Damián, who was laughing out loud. "Looks like you need more practice with water," Damian joked.
"Yes, clearly," Daemon replied, drying his face with a towel that Erika handed him.
Priest watched every move carefully, offering corrections and advice. "Remember, Daemon, magic requires concentration and balance. Don't rush. Take your time to feel each element."
Daemon followed Priest's instructions, striving to improve his control. Although the process was challenging, it was also incredibly rewarding. He felt that he increasingly understood his own power and how he could use it.
Elara and Erika watched with interest, and Damian applauded each time Daemon made a new breakthrough. "You're doing great, Daemon," Damian said cheerfully.
At the end of the training, Priest approached Daemon and put a hand on his shoulder. "You have done a great job today, Daemon. You have a natural talent, but remember that power without control is nothing. Keep practicing and you will learn to master these elements."
"Thank you, Mr. Priest," Daemon responded gratefully. "I will continue to work hard."
Priest smiled. "I'm sure you will. Now, let's take a break. You've worked hard this morning."
Daemon nodded and sat next to Damian, feeling a mix of exhaustion and satisfaction. The day had been long, but also incredibly productive. He had discovered his elemental affinities and started training seriously.
Suddenly, a sudden, sharp headache made him stagger. Damian, worried about his friend, asked, "Are you okay?" "Yes," Daemon replied. Priest walked over and asked, "Daemon, are you feeling okay?" Daemon replied firmly, "Yes, like I told Damian, I'm fine." Piest looked at him with a little seriousness, that did not go unnoticed by Daemon.
A moment ago, when he had that headache and closed his eyes, he thought he heard a guttural voice pronouncing his name. He attributed these phenomena to fatigue and other factors. Shaking his head, he decided it was time to return home and promised to return the next day. They looked at him with a hint of concern but he assured them that he would be fine.
With calmer spirits, he said goodbye to Damián and the others, reiterating that he just needed to rest. With a firm step, he headed towards his home, leaving momentary worries behind.
