Chapter 119 The First Goal Of The Chinese Champions League! Cry Emery!

"Welcome to the live broadcast of the 2015-2016 UEFA Champions League Group D match," the commentator announced. "Su Luo's Union Berlin is making its Champions League debut, facing La Liga powerhouse Sevilla away!"

CCTV 5 gave this Champions League match high priority, assigning the experienced commentators He Wei and Xu Yang to cover the game. He Wei, known for his insightful commentary on La Liga and the Champions League, was excited to finally commentate on a match involving Su Luo.

"Union Berlin rotated their squad heavily in the league to prepare for this Champions League debut," He Wei noted. "The only regular starter is Su Luo, who played against Borussia just four days ago. This shows how crucial Su Luo is to Union Berlin."

He Wei couldn't help but feel emotional. Su Luo was playing two games a week, and He Wei marveled at how he maintained his form. Since this was the first meeting between these two teams, both sides were cautious at the start, with Sevilla taking a slow and deliberate approach.

He Wei introduced the starting lineups calmly. "Neuhaus is using the usual 4-2-3-1 formation. The goalkeeper is Fabianski; defenders Pavard, Rudiger, Alex, and Ake; midfielders Kimmich, Naby Keita, Forsberg, Sane, and Maher Reiss; and the striker, the core of the team's offense, Su Luo."

"The offensive firepower is guaranteed, but the defense might have some issues," He Wei continued. "Except for Su Luo, Sane, and Alex, the other players are relatively unknown in Europe."

Spanish fans, unfamiliar with most of Union Berlin's players, only paid attention to Su Luo. Sevilla's lineup seemed stronger on paper. "Unai Emery's formation is also 4-2-3-1. The goalkeeper is Rico; defenders Anduar, Rami, Andreolli, and Tremoulinas; midfielders Krychowiak, Reyes, Nzonzi, Banega, and Vitolo; and the striker is Kevin Gameiro. Immobile is on the bench."

"Banega, Reyes, and Nzonzi form a strong midfield trio, which Emery is proud of," Director Zhang Lu commented online. "This game will be decided in the midfield. Whoever controls the midfield and supports the front will have a greater chance of winning."

Madrid TV's Spanish commentator was confident. "Our opponents are inexperienced in Europe. Our midfield is stronger, and we should soon control the game."

The Madrid commentator underestimated Union Berlin's players. If he could see into the future, he would be surprised to find that many of them would become key players for top clubs.

As the game began, Union Berlin started to take control. He Wei's excitement grew as he described the action. "Beautiful, clean tackle by Kimmich. Union Berlin's midfield is strong, and they're counterattacking! Keita to Forsberg...beautiful! Forsberg with a wide pass to Maher Reiss! Reiss easily gets past his marker and breaks into the box!"

He Wei's voice rose with excitement. "A red figure is lurking near the penalty spot! Reiss passes back, and Su Luo is ready!"

A defender marked Su Luo closely, but he didn't care. "Haaland mode activated!" Su Luo's incredible strength pushed the defender aside, leaving him stunned.

Su Luo switched instantly, as smoothly as a video game character. "Ronaldo mode activated!" He trapped the ball perfectly in mid-air, leaned on the defender, and executed a sideways volley. His shot, a display of 20 years of skill, flew past the Sevilla goalkeeper and hit the side netting.

"Is it in?" the commentator wondered. But the reaction in the studio was clear. Zhan Jun stood up, shouting, "Su Luo! A volley from the penalty area! It's in! Su Luo scores in the 16th minute, giving Union Berlin a 1-0 lead in their Champions League debut! Can you believe it? A goal on his Champions League debut, and he's our Chinese star!"

Su Luo celebrated confidently this time. He ran to the bench, grabbed a banner from Quining, and unfurled it with Kimmich. Facing the camera, they declared to the world, "Iron Union! From Berlin to the world!"

This goal gave the European audience a clearer understanding of this new Bundesliga team. "What a beautiful goal!" Director Zhang reminisced. "His body control and touch were perfect. Maher Reiss did well with the pass, and Su Luo's volley was exquisite."

"Indeed," Zhan Jun agreed, still excited. "Su Luo's shooting skills are as sharp as ever. According to statistics, Su Luo's career shooting percentage is over 76%, with more than 80% of those shots within two touches!"

As a striker, speed is crucial when facing tight defense in the penalty area. Completing a shot with fewer touches and being just 0.5 seconds faster than the opposing defender can be the difference between scoring and missing.

After Su Luo scored, Neuhaus remained composed, treating it like a routine Bundesliga goal. "Is Su Luo's goal news? No. His scoring drought would be news," he mused. Su Luo had never been a concern for him from the start.

On the other hand, Emery's expression grew serious. All his pre-match strategies were shattered by Su Luo's strike.

Sevilla couldn't afford to attack blindly; they had to stabilize and hold the score until halftime. But Emery soon realized that a team capable of defeating Bayern 7-0 was not to be underestimated.

"After the goal, Union Berlin has clearly intensified their attack!" He Wei commented. "Mach Reiss and Sane are very active! They are dominating the midfield and feeding the striker trident!"

Just seven minutes after Su Luo's goal, he nearly had another chance at the top of the penalty arc.

"Forsberg passes to Su Luo! Su Luo, with his back to goal, performs a Cruyff turn and slips past the defender!"

Sevilla's defense was in chaos. Nearly everyone rushed to stop him.

"Su Luo! Facing the goal...he passes it! Sane is unmarked on the far side! He easily scores!"

The home crowd fell silent again, while the German fans erupted in celebration.

"2-0! Union Berlin takes a two-goal lead in the first half, thanks to Su Luo's assist..." Zhan Jun exclaimed. But his excitement was cut short as the linesman raised the flag—Sane was offside.

"I'm not offside!" Sane protested. The timing of Su Luo's pass seemed perfect, but Sane appeared offside at first glance. Slow-motion replay showed Sane was level with the far left-back when Su Luo passed the ball, but there was no VAR to overturn the decision.

Captain Su Luo's negotiations with the referee were fruitless. "Su, I'm sorry. I was too eager," Sane apologized.

"It's not your fault. We'll just score another," Su Luo reassured him.

The home fans breathed a sigh of relief and applauded the referee. But their relief was short-lived.

Just two minutes later, Sevilla's fans were silenced again.

"Sane breaks through on the left! The central defender moves to cover, slowing him down."

"Sane steps back and passes to Forsberg. The defense expects a one-two, but Forsberg immediately looks for Su Luo!"

Su Luo darted outside the penalty area as Forsberg's cross arrived perfectly.

With a familiar feeling surging through him, Su Luo turned and took a long shot before the defenders could react.

"The Law of Karma, activate!" he thought.

The ball deflected off a defender's leg, wrong-footing the goalkeeper and finding the net.

"Su Luo scores again! 2-0! This time the goal stands!"

"Su Luo makes up for the disallowed goal! Union Berlin is in top form!"

"I'm afraid Sevilla can't withstand this German battleship!"

Emery was on the verge of tears. He knew Su Luo was formidable, but this exceeded his worst fears. "This oriental wizard, please, have mercy!" he thought, desperate for relief from Su Luo's relentless brilliance.
