A Coincidental Meeting

The lively energy that had filled the room only moments ago began to settle, giving way to the natural order of things. Though the arrival of a mage—Luke Chandler—had been an unexpected twist in their day, it was clear that the true purpose of this meeting had nothing to do with him.

General Haris was the first to rise, rolling his shoulders back.

"Well, that was a fine detour, but we've already lingered long enough," he mused, his sharp eyes flickering toward Commander Alec. "We all have our tasks and can't afford to waste any more time."

General Fotis nodded in agreement, his expression still carrying a trace of amusement.

"Well said. Valerie, it was good to see you back in one piece," he said, giving her a brief but firm nod of respect before turning toward the door.

One by one, the other generals followed suit.
