Ethan furrowed his brow upon hearing Osiris' response about how to avoid being tempted by the cosmic stone, intrigued by his reasons.
"Why did you want to die?" Ethan finally asked, unwilling to let the question go unanswered.
Osiris shrugged, his gaze distant.
"I lost too much, far too long ago. My purpose as a god was taken from me, my people forgot my name, and those who were once my allies fell into darkness. Even my brother Seth tried to kill me. When I arrived here, I thought I would finally find rest. But the stone cannot tempt me with power because I do not desire it. Even when I tried to reach it to end my lament, the stone evaded me; it does not wish to be claimed by me."
Ethan looked at him in silence, feeling a mixture of respect and compassion for the man before him. Osiris was neither an enemy nor an obstacle. He was a victim of life's events, trapped in a cycle of loneliness and resignation.
