Because of the scene at the bridal store during the day, he had been distracted all day. Whenever he closed his eyes, he recalled the way her cheeks flushed in his arms, the way she melted under his kisses, soft and yielding like water. Yet, he resisted the urge to go back to her, unwilling to admit how deeply her allure affected him.
At night, unable to endure any longer, he asked Marc to find him a woman. Marc, however, responded with a serious expression.
"Mr. Drucker, you're about to get married. Do you really think it's a good idea to look for a woman now?"
Marc's words poured cold water over his fiery desires, leaving him no choice but to return to her and extinguish his flames there.
Clarisse reached out her small hand to press against his chest.
"But... I'm afraid," she murmured.
"Tell me when you feel uncomfortable," he whispered.
