Clarisse had no idea why he was upset again. She didn't ask. Instead, she simply held Agente in her arms and walked out silently. After handing the child over to the maid, she poured a glass of water, grabbed the medicine, and went upstairs.
But to her surprise, she heard the sound of running water from the bathroom. Through the frosted glass, the silhouette of a tall, lean man was clearly outlined.
A faint flush crept up her cheeks as she knocked on the bathroom door.
"Are… are you planning to stay in this room?"
She thought she had already asked the servants to prepare another room for him.
The water stopped. A displeased voice rang out from inside.
"Where else should I stay?"
