It Only Just Started (1)

"Turn around. I want to see your face."

The voice would only go away once Ira faced him. She has not choice.

The voice was low, a menacing growl resonating with a sinister echo that chilled her to the bone. The hand that gripped her held onto her shoulder tightly; it was as if they were about to break her bones.

Ira slowly turned, closing her eyes; if anything, she thought this might be her death wish. Did this person see right through her? Did they know she was going to kill the Emperor?

"Open your eyes, you scum!"

The person grabbed Ira's chin, forcing her to open her eyes. However, as Ira opened her eyes, she was met with a sight that was not what she had expected.

She was face to face with a man with jet-black hair, a chiselled face, high cheekbones, and a strong jawline. His piercing purple eyes conveyed a sense of determination and alterity.

"Huh, oh you. You were with Ivan and Reign. Kathryn? Was it?"

Ira controlled her fear and stuffed it down deep inside of her. She kept a poised and composed balance outside without showering her fear. She acquired a skill while still the heiress of a proud kingdom.

"Ah yes, I am, why?"

A laugh soon could be heard from him. What was so funny?

"You look like Kathryn so that I can take your word. After all, I should know what she looks like."

The man's words puzzled Ira. Was he suspicious?

"Since you are what you say you are, you'll be my personal maid from today."

"Yes- wait, what?"

"You are to serve your Crown Prince with respect and duty. Without any questions."

Ira finally realized that he was the Crown Prince. But it seems like he doesn't recognize her. As Ira recognized the Emperor, he should know her, too.

Ira couldn't recognize him. He's changed since that night.
