Even if it kills me

"No!!!"

Uncle Fred screamed as he watched the car veered off the road and headed straight for one pillar supporting the bridge. He couldn't believe that after all the years he lived, he was going to die so pathetically by drowning in a river.

"Iris, wake up, Iris. You can't fall asleep at this time. Iris, just follow my voice. Iris…" Dr Ford chimed in more calmly. The situation frightened him, but there was no way he could panic more than he already had.

Being in a military hospital, he has gone through numerous drills that have prepared him for emergencies, but no one would be prepared for certain death as he's faced with at the moment.

The voices of the people in the car sounded like whispers from far away, leading her to follow and use the last ounce of energy in her body to push the dizziness aside.

"Huuuhh!" Iris awakened with a start and felt shaken at the sight before her. She was only a few feet away from falling off the bridge.
