Breaking up at the funeral

"Speaking about partners, I'd like to introduce my girlfriend to everyone." Asher spoke gloatingly, looking toward Amara as if to say, "I have a partner, but you don't." With the two ladies looking at him as if he were their new toy, he noticed Rachel walking up to them. She had been speaking with a few people earlier. "She's among the old work colleagues who came to pay their last respects," Asher said to Iris, Amara, and Rachel while he roamed his gaze through the crowd. He was searching for his girlfriend, who he had seen just a few seconds prior. 

"Mmmm! We have a wedding to plan, Amara. See how Asher is already blushing," The two girls smiled at Iris' jokes, trying to make the best out of their time together. Even though Rachel only joined them at that moment, she could tell what had been the issue.
