JASMINE POV
"P-Please stop, please." I whimpered in pain on the floor.
"Shut up bitch! You don't get to tell us what to do! Ryan kick her again!" A blonde girl snapped.
"Ahhh! Please!" I cried as someone's foot connected to my rib with a hard kick that took the breath out of my body.
"Weak bitch! She can't even fight back, all she does is beg and whine! What a disgrace. You shouldn't have been rescued into our pack, you should have been left behind to be slaughtered like your useless family!" The blonde girl snarled before spitting at my face.
"St-stop, please." I whimpered, too scared to do anything else. There was a crowd around us, watching my abuse, but no one lifted a finger to help me. In fact, they made sadistic taunts encouraging them to hurt me.
"Abomination!"
"Someone should kill her already, so we can be free from such a curse."
"Yea, all she does is drain our resources and make us look weak and pathetic! Who will ever fear our pack when the see her! Maybe we should just kill her, eliminate the weak so there is more space for the strong."
"Survival of the fittest baby!" Someone joked, causing the crowd to burst with laughter.
I should have been scared for my life, but I wasn't, because they wouldn't actually kill me….at not now, and not here.
Because we were still in the school halls, and it was just lunch break.
So I was safe for now. But who knows for how long?
The bully and her goons kicked me some more, but when I still refused to fight, they got bored and left me alone, just as I expected.
I was already very used to being viciously bullied you see, and what I've learnt over time is they get bored if you don't fight back.
So if I lay there and take a few blows, spits and kicks, I would still end up better than people were foolish enough to fight back.
Sure, a few times I ended up with a broken rib or two, but at least I was still alive, which was the very opposite of all my loved ones.
By the time the school bell rang, the crowd had reduced bit by bit and I waited in silence on the floor till they were all gone before getting up.
Once again, I had been humiliated in the presence of my school mates and I did not feel bad. It was surprisingly little compared to the humiliation I faced at home. Most times, I preferred being in school instead of being at home. I could handle people calling me names, kicking and throwing things at me but one thing that consistently made me weak and broken was all the cutting, piercing, burns, beatings and starvation I experienced at home.
Home? Home was going too far to define it. It was not home and I could not run away. I would honestly prefer to be one of the lost wolves that roamed around the forest at the mercy of the hunters than to be in this pack but I had no choice regardless.
I had signed away my life to them, for them to use me as they pleased. I had agreed to this. And this was the punishment for my foolishness.
The wolflife pack were good with technology and always came up with new things that they built, most times, using me as a lab rat. They had built a camera a few years ago and used it on me, to watch everything I did, everyone I talked to and everywhere I went. I could not run if I wanted to.
"You belong to us, mind body and soul." They said. "There is no place to run. And if you ever try to escape, we'll hunt you down and kill you."
From then on, accepting my fate was not that hard. All I had to look forward to was death, so I just expected it every day as I got weaker with each sun that rose and set.
Now that everyone had gone, I could now get up and limp to class. The latest experiment was at the expense of my right leg. They had broken it several times, to see how long it would take to repair itself. They didn't care that pains from the experiment were agonizing torture, but that was fine, I was used to it. my mind was already shut off to any kind of pain.
"Are you okay enough to walk on your own?" A voice suddenly snapped with irritation, stopping me in my place. I turned around to see who it was and froze.
His green eyes were the first thing I saw. Bright, intense green eyes that seemed cold enough to freeze me in place. I knew those eyes.
It was the last eyes I saw before my wolf —Sera was brutally killed.
I had only seen and felt my wolf, Sera, once. She was cruelly deprived of life after she showed up that first time. That very first time had destroyed my life took my parents, and any future I could hope for, for both my wolf and I.
I am an Omega, and all omegas in every pack were seen as servants, as I was taught by my parents but it was different in the wolflife pack. The said that omegas were treated with a certain amount of respect and treated so well, one would think they were in a higher rank than they were. That was why we escaped from our pack and moved here years ago.
I used to look forward to waking up as a young child because of the number of friends I got to play with.
All the pack's children and the beta's children were all best friends of mine until I the day that I shifted under the moon in the presence of everyone during the annual pack festival.
People screamed and jumped away when the saw me in my wolf form. I looked around confused and in pain from my first shift.
My parents refused to come close to me and so did everyone else. I was only a young child but I saw the faces of disgust and unbelief in the faces of my pack mates through the eyes of my wolf —Sera.
"What abomination is this?" I turned around. The Alpha of my pack had walked a bit closer. "Who are her parents? I need some god Damn explanation right now!. Where did you get this thing from?"
"Thing?" Sera felt confused and I felt it as well.
I turned around to find my parents but they seemed to have intentionally disappeared in the crowd. That night was the last night I saw them. I didn't know where they were and no one in the pack knew as well. I was confused, tired and weak from the transformation, but no one cared as they all shrunk away from me when I approached them.
And before I could to search for them, the Alpha came to sneer at me in disgust.
"In all my years, I have never seen such a disgusting abomination, Take her to the dungeon!." The Alpha commanded again.
"Wait! Please, what's happening? Why are you doing this? Please someone talk to me!" I screamed but they just roughly dragged me on the floor, worsening the pain in my bones.
"At least tell me what I did wrong, PLEASE!!" I screamed until I was hoarse. But no one answered as they shut the dungeon gate close in my face, and my parents never ever came to get me.
