Chapter 12 - His Green Eyes

JASMINE

For the first time in years, walking into the school did not give me anxiety. This one time, there was a certain happiness I felt as I walked into the school premises. For the first time, I did not here the side comments though I knew they were directed at me as they always were. My heart was full and my soul was happy. The happiness in my soul searched for one person and although I didn't know how he looked since he came in the dark but I hoped he would find me soon so we continue the conversation from where it stopped.

"You look different today, I must say. There's something about the way you look today that says that you are happy even if the clothes and hair is the same."

My happiness went from a scale of hundred to a zero as soon as I raised my head and I saw who it was who approached me. My day was ruined. I didn't feel this happy for him to take it all away.

The green eyes, his green eyes would forever be what I loathed the most in the entirety of my existence. The night that everything came crashing down never cleared from memory no matter what I tried for it to leave. This very man had caused my death and the death of my wolf and there was no way I could bring myself to forgive him for that.

I loathed him and wanted to yell at him but I kept myself. Majorly, because we were in school and because he was the Alpha's son.

"Thank you."

"Oh, she responds and more so, in a civilised manner." He said, faked shock all over his face.

"Can I help you with anything?" Your father orders me around in the house, I guess it's fine if you do the same here. I hissed internally but I knew I had to be wise in dealing with him. Walking away could get him angry and cause his father to rain worse episodes of judgement upon me while talking to him would make his mother mad.

'Such a confused set of family.' I thought to myself and honestly hoped he could not hear me else I knew that was going to be the end for me.

'"Hello, Jasmine." The voice made my heart skip a beat. This was the person I was hoping to see and was the one that made me feel extra happy.

I stared at him for the longest time, hoping that no part of him that I so much adored would get lost in the back of my mind so I forget what he looks like.

"Hi, Finn." I smiled at him.

He smiled back at me. "How did you figure out it was me? Did I give it away?"

I shied away from looking at him. "No, not that. It's just I recognised your voice and it was not so hard knowing it was you when you spoke."

"Really, you are very intelligent then. We've only talked once and you could single out my voice after one encounter.

I smiled at him.

He turned to face Nathan whose facial expressions were already a mix of shock, anger and confusion. "What's all this nonsense about?" He asked, confirming what I thought he was feeling.

"What?" Finn stared back at me. "I am only talking to a new friend."

"A new friend? Your new friend is Jasmine and she is fine with you being her friend, talks to you and all?" Nathan stared back at me, confused at everything that was going on.

"Yes, yes and yes and another yes to all of the questions you asked." Finn replied.

I stood, quiet like I was not permitted to say a word and I knew that Nathan was not having any of it and I would rather not add flame to the fire I was sure was already fanning in his heart.

"Jasmine! How dare you?! I have tried to talk to you for a while now with no response from you only to hear now that you are talking to my beta, my second with no questions. Am I a fool to you? Is he better than I am? I am way taller and better than he is. What the heck, Jasmine!" Nathan blew hot, eyes were now on me. Everyone wondered what I was doing with the two hottest guys in the school.

"I am sorry. I didn't mean to…" I was cut short by the two of them at the same time.

"Please, I don't want to hear it." Nathan said.

"Why are you apologizing to him? For what? He does not deserve it. I'll talk to you later and please, wherever you pick next, make sure he is not there else this is going to be hard for the both of us.

Except I did not want it to be hard for the both of us and I wanted something tangible out of the friendship, even if it was for a short time.

"I didn't mean to cause any problems between both of you. I just wanted to talk to Finn before you showed up."

I could feel and see Nathan's countenance change greatly. He was too angry to say a word so he just walked away at the thought of his friend abandoning him for the same girl he tried talking to who had not given him the light of day.

"How are you Jasmine?"

"I am very good now. I promise."

We stared at each other for the longest time before he went on to speak again. "I am glad you actually looked like you wanted to talk to me."

"You came for me too." I told him.

I smiled at myself. Maybe this was the mate thing they had been talking about and I had heard about. They weren't wrong when they said you would be infatuated about your mate and may not be able to breathe close to them. I guess thru were right, it was the exact way I felt right now.

There was only one issue, I needed confirmation and Sera was nowhere to be found. I needed her now more than ever.
