A stair-chat - II

Boss. Inheritance on the line. No being fired.

Brandon let out a deep breath before he jutted out his chin and moved to slide across his boss.

For a moment, he was successful, especially when he came to stand beside Killian. One step further, and he would be ahead of him.

His weight shifted to the step forward when something blocked his chest, something that made him jump out of his skin.

It was Killian's hand, on his chest, rught in the middle of it.

Scrambling to get the hand off, he pushed it away, not bothering to see if he had pushed his boss down the stairs.

It would be my contribution and sacrifice to the world if he did end up dying. He snickered.

"I'm not done yet." Brandon paused. "Do not walk away from me until I tell you to go."

Chills crawled on his spine, daring him to look back. Brandon paused, standing frozen at the spot, making no move to look back.

"Turn around, Brandon Wallace."

He did, slowly, almost expecting a punch to his face the moment he would face his boss. But it did not come, Killian had not even moved from the spot he had cornered Brandon in.

"Y-yeah?" Stutter? Really?

Killian ran his eyes up and down Brandon's body. It made him feel smaller than he was. 5'11 was an impressive height, but standing in front of someone who was definitely above 6 feet and was glaring at him down, Brandon felt that he had gone down to just a few inches on a foot.

It felt like he was doing it purposefully, and he was clearly winning on it.

Killian stepped ahead, towering over Brandon. "That is my company, and you are my employee, is that correct?"

"Yes, sir." That one bit went without a doubt. He was the boss and that was one thing Brandon could not do anything about for the next three years.

"Good." Killian leaned back slightly, satisfied with his answer. "Now get me a fucking sandwich, the same one you had."

"W-what?" Like a fish out of water, he gaped at his boss. "You want a sandwich, now?"

Killian stepped into his space. "Yes, Wallace. I want a sandwich right now, and you are going to get me one." he patted Brandon on his street before walking away.
