**The Holy Land of Yao Guang **

At the summit of Tian Sheng Mountain, in front of a thatched cottage.

A stone table lay between two old men engrossed in a game of Go. One wore a solemn expression, while the other appeared somewhat indifferent to the world.

Suddenly, one of them sighed, "Time flies, and the years are hard to capture. No one can escape the turbulence of this mortal world. You, me, and all the countless beings on this continent are merely small pieces on the chessboard of the heavens." After a pause, the old man's eyes brightened, "One day, I'll break free from this cage and make a face at the heavens from the peak."

The other old man's hand stopped stroking his beard, "So... is this why you want to retract your move?"

Pei Yuan's expression cracked for a moment but then returned to his usual carefree demeanor. He asked casually, "Have you given it any more thought?"

Ye Qiancheng, the master of Tian Tu Mountain Peak, looked slightly irritated, "Your so called well-trained disciple! It's too early to start a war with them now. At least wait until..."

Ye Qiancheng sighed, "Never mind, I'm old and prefer to play it safe."

Pei Yuan scratched his cheek, exasperated, "Why don't you come with me instead?"

Ye Qiancheng shook his head, "Junior brother, I've been foolish since I was young, not as methodical as our eldest senior brother, and I don't have as much talent in cultivation as you..."

"But this time, I must guard the Yao Guang Holy Land for our master. I also promised our eldest senior brother..."

Pei Yuan, unusually upset, retorted, "Stubborn fool."

Two old men, both nearly a millennium old, quarreled like children.(No need to explain this right ??)

After a long while, Ye Qiancheng muttered, "Junior brother, I know you have your mission, but I can't help you. I'm tired. The future of this vast world... you'll have to see it for me."

Pei Yuan cursed, "Impossible. Give up on that thought. If you want to see it, see it yourself. Don't be so stubborn, will you? You'll die. Stubborn ox."

Ye Qiancheng smiled, his thoughts drifting back to their youth. Even then, Pei Yuan never knew how to show respect to him as the second senior brother.( no need for explanation here)

"Junior brother, I'm really old. Living this long, my only regret is that I won't see the Yao Guang Holy Land restored to its former glory." Ye Qiancheng paused, "But I have no more regrets. With you and your disciples, the Yao Guang Holy Land's legacy will continue. That's enough, more than enough."

Pei Yuan's expression turned unreadable, hidden beneath his disheveled hair, and he fell silent.

A jade ruyi slipped from Ye Qiancheng's sleeve. He handed it to Pei Yuan, "Take it. Don't forget to bring the Kong Ge Baoyu(Void Song Gem) from Tian Zun Mountain."

Pei Yuan took it, turned silently, and said, "The Yao Guang Holy Land will be reborn. I promise you."

Ye Qiancheng felt a weight lift off his shoulders, murmuring, "Your disciples are really impressive. They're... just like you."

Ye Qiancheng's voice faded as Pei Yuan's steps grew heavier while descending the mountain. "Goodbye, senior brother."(Haha sorry guys i went ahead and conveyed even suggestive ones that is because I was having fun conveying in third person.).(After all 3rd person POV is my forte)

...

When Jiang Cixue and the others returned to the Yao Guang Sanctuary, they were puzzled by the empty mountain gate.

At that moment, Pei Yuan, carrying a large bundle, emerged from the gate, meeting his three disciples.

"Hey, you two, help your master carry this. My old back can't take it," he groaned.

Jiang Cixue asked curiously, "Old man, have you been robbing when we were away?"

Pei Yuan's face stiffened, "Nonsense, your master is just moving out his stuffs! Now, help me out..."

Jiang Cixue's face turned serious, "Moving? Where to?"

Pei Yuan forced a smile, "Anywhere we can..."

"Master!" Jiang Cixue interrupted, "At this critical moment for the Yao Guang Sanctuary, you are telling me that you're leaving? "

Xie Yunzhang's expression was also complicated, "Master, Yao Guang Sanctuary is our home..."

Though they didn't say anything excessive, their words conveyed everything.

After a long silence, Jiang Cixue put down the little girl in her arms, gently touched her head, and knelt down, "Little Xuanji, can you promise senior sister one thing?"

Xuanji looked up earnestly, "Yes, senior sister."

"Little Xuanji, senior sister and senior brother have something important to do. Can you promise to take good care of master while we're away?"

The little one nodded firmly, "I will take good care of master." She patted her small chest as a pledge.

Jiang Cixue smiled gently, "Good girl. Now, go to master. We'll come find you once we're done."

As Jiang Cixue turned to leave, Xuanji gently tugged her sleeve, tears welling up as she held her little turtle shell, "Senior sister, it's dangerous... can you not go?"

Jiang Cixue smiled, "Someone has to stand up."

Pei Yuan's figure stiffened before he relaxed, only turning around after Jiang Cixue and Xie Yunzhang had walked far away.

He gently picked up Xuanji, his already stooped back bending further. "Let's go... let's go... the children have grown up... what else can I do..."

Xuanji hugged him, rubbing her forehead against his chin, "Master, why didn't you tell senior brother and sister?"

Pei Yuan tapped her nose, "What's the point of saying so much? I'm an old man. I deserve their resentment."

Xuanji pouted, "No, master is the best in the world!"

Pei Yuan finally smiled, "Little Xuanji, do you want to go find your senior brothers?"

The little girl blinked, "To find big senior brother?"

Pei Yuan thought for a moment, "Yes, first we'll find your big senior brother, then your fourth senior brother. How about that?"

Xuanji's eyes sparkled, "But isn't fourth senior brother... dead?"

Pei Yuan's mouth twitched. What had Jiang Cixue been teaching this little one?

Xuanji murmured, "Alright, I've never seen fourth senior brother. I wonder what he looks like."

Pei Yuan straightened slightly, "We'll first find your big senior brother. Once we get the Five-Light Fan, you can start building your foundation."

"Building my foundation?" Xuanji asked curiously, "Can I fly like senior sister after that?"

Pei Yuan nodded, "Yes, do you want to build your foundation?"

"Yes~"

"Hey, don't pull on your master's beard, let go..."

...

An old man and a young girl gradually disappeared down the mountain path. From a high vantage point, Jiang Cixue watched their receding figures, her eyes calm until they vanished from sight.

Xie Yunzhang consoled her, "It's alright. After we help Master pass this crisis, we'll bring them back..."

As he spoke, Xie Yunzhang noticed tears rolling down Jiang Cixue's cheeks, leaving him at a loss. His junior sister... was crying for the first time. At least for the first time since they met each other.

"Why, why do I always keep losing those I cherish? Your Little Su, senior sister is so sad. I miss you so much..."

To be continued...

  1. [ Said by Ye Qiancheng,in first part he reflects on the passage of time and the inevitability of life's difficulties. He suggests that everyone, regardless of their power or status, is subject to the whims of fate, likening them to pawns on a cosmic chessboard controlled by the heavens.] [ In second he expresses a rebellious desire to transcend these limitations and defy the heavens, envisioning a day when he can achieve ultimate freedom and mock the forces that control destiny.]
  2. [Said by Pei Yuan, he interrupts, questioning whether Ye Qiancheng's philosophical musings are his reason for wanting to take back a move in their game of Go, implying that such lofty thoughts might be influencing his decision-making in the game.]
  3. [Pei Yuan momentarily shows a more serious side but quickly reverts to his nonchalant attitude. He asks the second old man if he has reconsidered something important, likely a significant decision or proposal.]
  4. [Ye Qiancheng, identified as the master of Tian Tu Mountain Peak, shows annoyance and mentions that Pei Yuan's disciple is well-trained. He argues that it is premature to engage in a conflict with an unspecified group, suggesting they should wait.]
  5. [Ye Qiancheng concedes, admitting that his age has made him more cautious and less willing to take risks.]
  6. [Pei Yuan, frustrated, suggests that Ye Qiancheng should accompany him, implying they could run away together rather than facing challenges separately.]
  7. [Ye Qiancheng declines, explaining that he has always considered himself less capable than their eldest senior brother and lacking Pei Yuan's talent in cultivation.]
  8. [Despite his self-perceived shortcomings, Ye Qiancheng feels a strong duty to protect the Yao Guang Sanctuary for their master and to honor a promise made to their eldest senior brother.]
  9. [Pei Yuan, showing rare frustration, calls Ye Qiancheng stubborn for his refusal to join him.]
  10. [Ye Qiancheng acknowledges Pei Yuan's mission but admits he is too weary to assist(run away). He entrusts the future and the wonders of the world to Pei Yuan, asking him to experience it on his behalf.]
  11. [Pei Yuan rejects Ye Qiancheng's resignation, urging him to abandon his stubbornness and insisting he must see the future for himself, warning that his obstinance (for staying in Yao Guang Sanctuary) could lead to his death.]
  12. [Ye Qiancheng confesses that his only regret is not witnessing the Yao Guang Sanctuary's revival. However, he finds solace in knowing that Pei Yuan and his disciples will carry on its legacy, which he considers sufficient fulfillment.]
  13. [Ye Qiancheng gives Pei Yuan a jade ruyi (a ceremonial scepter) and reminds him to bring the Kong Ge Baoyu(Void Song Gem), an important artifact from Tian Zun Mountain, indicating its significance for their future plans.]
  14. [Pei Yuan accepts the jade ruyi, turns to leave, and solemnly promises that the Yao Guang Sanctuary will be restored.]
  15. [Ye Qiancheng feels relieved, expressing admiration for Pei Yuan's disciples, noting their resemblance to Pei Yuan.]
