Chapter 2: Into the Forgotten Forest

The journey to the Forgotten Forest is fraught with danger. The forest is a maze of ancient trees, their twisted roots and dense foliage creating a labyrinthine path. The air is thick with a sense of foreboding, and strange, shadowy creatures lurk in the underbrush.

Kael leads the way, his strength and determination guiding them through the treacherous terrain. "Stay close and be alert. This place is full of traps."

As they venture deeper, they encounter an ambush by dark creatures that seem to emerge from the shadows themselves. Soren's swordsmanship and Ryuu's agility prove invaluable in fending off the attacks, while Arin's healing magic keeps the group's spirits and strength intact.

During a brief respite, Elara senses a familiar presence. She closes her eyes and focuses, her celestial energy reaching out. "There's something ahead. Something powerful."

They press on and soon find themselves at the edge of a massive chasm. Across the chasm lies an ancient stone archway, inscribed with runes similar to those they saw in the Astralis chamber. "This must be it," Lysander says, examining the runes. "The entrance to the Twilight Abyss."

To reach the archway, they must cross a rickety bridge suspended over the chasm. As they make their way across, the bridge begins to sway dangerously, and shadowy tendrils rise from the depths, attempting to pull them into the abyss.

Elara's powers flare as she repels the tendrils with blasts of light. "Hurry, we don't have much time!"

One by one, they make it across, but as the last of them reaches the other side, the bridge collapses into the chasm, cutting off their retreat. There is no turning back now.
