Anna had been looking everywhere for Nathan. She had heard about the assault and had been ill with fear. When she ultimately determined to hit him, her comfort became overshadowed by means of anger.

"Nathan!" she snapped, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and rage. "Where have you ever been? I've been looking everywhere for you!"

Nathan seemed up, his expression an aggregate of exhaustion and irritation. "Anna, now's not the time."

Anna's eyes widened as she took in Jacqueline's battered form. Her anger dissipated, modified through the way of assignment. She rushed to Jacqueline's face, her tone softening. "Is she going to be okay?"

The healer nodded. "She'll recover, but she needs relaxation."

Anna sighed in consolation, then turned to Nathan. "What happened?"
