"Evening," Josephine said coolly, her eyes locked onto Isabel and Rosa. "We need to speak."
Isabel's stomach churned with unease. "About what?" she asked, looking to hold her voice constant.
Eileen improved, her expression cold. "We know you've been snooping round, trying to dig up information about Johnson's assault. It wishes to prevent."
Rosa's eyes widened. "We haven't achieved anything wrong," she said defensively.
"Maybe not now but," Josephine stated, her tone menacing. "But if you don't go into reverse, you'll become like Jacqueline."
A seat back ran down Isabel's spine. "What do you suggest?" she asked, even though she already suspected the answer.
Eileen leaned in, her voice low and threatening. "Jacqueline became banished for sticking her nostril where it didn't belong. Keep this up, and the same thing will happen to you."
