Chapter 1
-Kazuna's POV-
What is this..
Ouch.. my chest hurts... its cold... but why...?
Wet. I'm wet. Where am I?
If the average person's existence were a meticulously crafted multi-course meal, mine had been merely a bowl of misery seasoned with sadness, tragedy, abuse, and misfortune.
Who's there?
Being born into a wealthy family, I never knew my father's name or face. When I was around three years old, my mother abandoned me, and we struggled to make ends meet.
Who are you?!
Damned high school. Damn it! I wasn't being vulgar. But... sweet high school, my ass.
Hey kid, I'm not sure why you're in my head, but mind your language and watch the swearing.
Hahaha. Sorry, I was certain that being a high school student was cursed.
Oh yeah? Get out of my head!
This would have never happened. If only I were stronger...
Hah! Stronger? Nah, kid, believe me, being strong is burdensome.
Easy for you to say... I ended up in a coma because of my bullies, who treated me like a punching bag as I was a sixteen-year-old high schooler. I tried to fight back, but in a way, the situation I find myself in now is even worse.
What are you trying to say kid?
I have been waiting for you. I wanted you to take over my body. I'm getting tired of my own world and I wanted to rest, but I don't want to leave my mother.
Your mother left you when you were three, yet you still care for her?
My grandmother advised me not to harbor hatred towards my mother because, whether I like it or not, I can't alter the fact that she's the woman who brought me into this world.
Oh yeah? I killed my mother. Do you still want me to take over your body?
Nana told me that I should be grateful to her because she could have chosen to abort me when I was in her womb... but instead, she chose to give birth to me.
Are you even listening to me? Ugh, I'm already dead, kid.
But your soul is talking with me... I was born carrying all the world's misery and darkness, while you were born bearing your uncle's manipulation. I have a younger sister, same father but different mother. She has been shaped by all the beauty and goodness in my world; she was like light itself. I couldn't bear to see her turn out like me, like a back alley rat. She deserved a better life.
But she already have a good life.
I know... but I want to protect her. When I was eight, my grandmother passed away. She was my only treasure, the one who had been caring for me since my mother left. Now, Nana has been caring for me, and I don't want to leave the only person who brought color to my otherwise dull life. Please, take control of my body and care for them. I recall you mentioning that you don't want to die and that you want to live. So, PLEASE... I'M BEGGING YOU, PLEASE... You're the only one who can help me.
Ugh... you talk too much. You're just like the rest, trying to use me. But okay, I'll do as you wish.
I'm not trying to use you, I just don't wanna live anymore... but Really?! THANK YOU!
I'm only doing this since you beg.
HAHAHA.
I opened my eyes and beheld a stunning girl with long, black, wavy hair and captivating royal blue eyes. In my world, she might be perceived as a villainess, given her round face and expression. However, I could understand why she was a target for bullies.
She has a piercing gaze and appears delicate and fragile, with her bangs almost concealing her eyes to create a mysterious aura. As a student and a girl, one would expect her to be knowledgeable about styling her hair and presenting a more vibrant appearance.
You really are beautiful. No wonder you're known as the 'most beautiful villain' in your world.
Her voice sounds soothing yet carries a depth to it, as if she was flawlessly crafted by the gods themselves.
"Yeah, I know. I'm glad you're also beautiful."
Hahaha. You're really are funny.
Her laughter even sounds adorable, man. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR SUCH A WOMAN TO EXIST?!
I have a diary in my room, you can read it to know more about me.
"You really prepare everything, do you?"
Hahaha. Yeah...
"Welp, I'm getting curious about your world now."
It's really a busy and dangerous world.
"Interesting."
It's time for you to depart now. I entrust everything to you, and I hope you remember him, Kazuna Hiraki.
With those words, she gradually fades away along with the light, and I sense a sharp pain shooting through my chest.
----------------
I woke up gradually with a throbbing headache.
Bruh, the ill? I was shot in the chest, yet now my head is throbbing?
Where am I? I found myself under the unfamiliar white ceiling of a typical room. This must be a place where they keep people in comas. Feeling disoriented in this unfamiliar environment, I attempted to sit up.
So, this is what they call the 'Modern World'—a world filled with black glass? Is it a window? A mirror? Huh?
"OH MY GOD! YU MEI, YOU'RE AWAKE!"
Huh? Yu Mei? Who's that? I gazed at the girl standing before me with shoulder-length brown hair and green eyes.
"Who..."
Bro, am I this thirsty? I scanned my surroundings and noticed a glass of water beside me. I attempted to reach for it, but I found myself unable to. It felt as though there was a rope tied around my wrist.
"Oh my god... You must be thirsty!"
She quickly approached me and picked up the water beside me. She attempted to help me drink, but I intervened by taking the glass of water from her hand and drinking it on my own.
After finishing the water, I attempted to place the glass back on the table beside me, but she swiftly took it from my hand and set it down.
"Are you okay? I've already called the doctor."
"Who are you?"
Instead of answering me, she gazed at me as if I was out of my mind. I avoided her eyes and scanned the room instead. My attention was drawn to a book on the couch
I want to ask her about the book, but my attention was drawn to a middle-aged man and two young women in their early 20s who entered the room.
A scientist? Or just weirdos? Why is the man wearing a long white jacket? Why are the girls dressed in such short outfits? Who are they?
The man approached me and touched my face, attempting to open my eyes wide. A sudden flash of white light caught me off guard, causing me to instinctively slap his hand away and shut my eyes, gradually adjusting my vision.
It's not painful, but it's uncomfortable and it made me feel dizzy.
"William Shatner, man! What's the matter with you?"
The two women stared at me in shock while the man's jaw dropped.
"Yu Mei, are you alright? What's happening?"
The woman with green eyes approached me and gently placed her hands on my shoulders.
"There's nothing wrong with her; she has very sensitive eyes, so it's normal. She hit her head during the accident, which led to a brief memory loss," the middle-aged man explained.
Weirdo, I thought to myself.
"Thank you, doc, and I'm terribly sorry," the woman with green eyes said as she courteously bowed to the middle-aged man. He raised his hand in a gesture to reassure her that it was okay.
"Don't worry, it's all part of the job for doctors."
Doctor? He's a doctor? The doctor we have at the Hiraki Mansion was chubby and kind-hearted. I observed him from head to toe, sighed, and then looked away.
"She will be discharged next week. It's a miracle for someone who has been in a coma for 8 months after a car accident and drowning in the ocean to wake up early. My other patient, who had a car accident 4 years ago, is still in a coma."
I noticed the woman with green eyes glancing at me and then at the mirror in front of them. Her expression seemed concerned. She must be Nana, the girl who has been looking after that delicate yet beautiful kid.
So, that kid's name is Yu Mei... that's what the woman with green eyes has been calling her ever since I woke up. But now that I think about it, that kid mentioned my name earlier... how does she know me when I don't know her?...
