11: Escaping The Clan's Confines, The Plot's Unfolding.

" Now Master Nexus, what games do you think we should play this evening?"

His face was grumpy with a frown and he was gritting his teeth as he stared at the lady who was now sitting on the floor right in front of him.

She had an unusual smile on her face while she fixed her eyes on him; he didn't know what to do at that moment but it seemed there was no getting out of the situation.

" Fine then, what game do you suggest we play?" He asked, looking away with a scoff.

" That frown on your face – so you're angry because I came to pay you a visit? You should be grateful for I only see those who need my visit." She said, standing up, " With the darkness being fed to your heart you're only bound to follow the same path..."

After hearing her words he couldn't help but return his gaze back to her due to the truth of her words; she had seen everything happening to him but unfortunately, wasn't the best at cheering people up.

" So then Nex, what do you say I rephrase the question – what should I do to cheer you up then?"

" Take me, far away from here."

He didn't hesitate for a moment to place his reply; leaving the clan was his only way to attain both peace and power but he would have to risk the potential attack of curses.

She slowly turned to face once again and as she looked at him, a smile slowly appeared on her face; one that made him feel so shy he had to quickly turn away.

" Very well, I'll take you far away from here."

As soon as he heard those words he felt a pat on his head and the next he felt was him standing on his feet once again.

His face was bright red and he was trying his best to hide his shy expression but all his attempts were failing.

" Hey now don't be shy, try to have a look around."

Though reluctantly, he slowly turned his head and his eyes instantly widened.

He was standing on a rock and the entire city was now in view; this was his first time outside the clan and to think that he would get to witness such a grand view.

While he was still staring wide-eyed at the huge city, he felt her pat his back as she revealed what seemed to be a glider before him.

" Well, how about we have as much as we want - no one's going to see us here."

He didn't know what had come over at that moment; the lady standing him was clearly crazy but every she presented was one he found worth risking after all she was the only one who held power equivalent to that of his father.

Without hesitation he jumped straight off the mountain and began flying straight down; at first, it felt like he would crash but a sudden gush of wind came from nowhere.

He flew past all the adjoining mountains and slowly began to descend, his mouth widened as he laughed out loud in joy.

He couldn't lie that it had been the best day of his life but too bad it had to end so soon; he had things to deal with and had to do so quickly.

The days went by once again and a week later, he was finally able to escape the confines of the Mystic clan with the help of his step-sister.

" Now then, let's see..." He thought, bringing out a piece of paper he had in his pocket, " it should be right around the corner."

The whole black market thing was a hoax he made up to bend Lana's will and manipulate her into helping him, believing she was about to gain something out of their dubious plan.

As for where he was going in the middle of the night; it was a store located a little far away to the north from where he was standing.

Using what gadgets he had he was able to get to the roof of the building while he waited patiently for things to play out.

This was the seventeenth of the seventh month of awakening as far as his calendar said and he knew what would happen on this fateful day; the meeting of the main character and the female lead.

He wasn't planning on changing anything though, just had to play into the plot and get himself dragged into everything until he was finally able to obtain his most treasured artifact.

He stayed there until he heard the grunts of a man which instantly went down, prompting him to look down below.

There he caught sight of a hooded figure covering the mouth of a man in a blue guard outfit as they pulled him along along the ground.

A smile appeared across his face as he watched everything unfold but that was when the figure turned their gaze upwards, towards the roof.

He quickly hid once again, heaving a sigh of relief as he sat down and tried to wait once again.

It was only a matter of minutes before the maintenance plot of the story would begin to play out and he would be the one controlling most of it.

" Hey, you there! Stop now!"

The loud masculine yell instantly caught his attention and he immediately jumped down from the roof.

The loud sound of glass as it crashed came soon after and after that was a feminine scream which seemed very likely to have come from a girl.

He couldn't interfere yet until the last minute since he already knew what was going to happen but it didn't him from peeping through the glass to see what was happening.

" Just a little longer. A little more time is all I need."
