Chapter 240 - Volume 8.

"It's not true, is it?" Elma asked, full of concern.

"Of course not. I never said I would stop writing. In fact, I brought you several volumes today, along with a brand-new book I just started."

"What? A new series?"

"Yes. But it'll be a short one. It's also a bit different from my other works—I think you'll find it interesting." I took the manuscript of Romeo and Juliet from my inventory and handed it to Elma.

"Read it and tell me what you think."

Elma began reading the first page of the book right in front of us.

There was a moment of silence before she spoke.

"This is amazing."

"But you've only read the first page."

"Even so, it's incredible. It's extremely well-written—better than anything you've written so far!"

"You're exaggerating."

"I'm not! The emotion I felt in just this opening… Even though it's just one page… It's better than anything I've ever read. How is this possible? How do you keep getting better?"

Elma's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Forget the other volumes—we have to publish this one as soon as possible! Joel! Joel!"

Elma ran out of the room and called for a man. A moment later, he entered.

"Get in touch with Bella and tell her to come to the shop. We have a new project for her."

"Of course," the young man named Joel replied, glancing at me nervously.

Then he said, "Excuse me, you're Luan, right? I'm a huge fan. Could you sign this for me?"

He pulled out a piece of paper and a pen from his pocket, as if he had known I would be here.

"Joel!"

"It's fine." I smiled and signed it for him.

Then he left the room.

"Sorry about him."

"It's okay. But you shouldn't rush things too much. This book takes a lot longer to write—the second volume will definitely take a while to come out."

"No problem," Elma said, her eyes still fixed on the manuscript.

"Even if it takes you months, that's fine. I'm sure it's going to be a huge hit. But now—let's see the other volumes. Where are they?"

"Right here."

I pulled out up to volume 8 of Re:Zero and volume 8 of Overlord. Several manuscripts.

When Elma saw them, she was shocked.

"All of these are..."

"Yes, manuscripts for both series. Don't publish them all at once. Don't overwhelm Bella."

"Luan, you're amazing!"

Elma began to shout, showering me with praise in every possible way. She praised me so much that I actually started to feel a little uncomfortable.

After handing everything over, I decided to leave. But before I did, I talked to Elma about the rumors that were going around. I asked her to put an end to them and reassure the readers that new volumes would be released soon.

Along with a brand-new series.

I also spoke to her about Bella.

I asked her to bring Bella to my house so we could discuss Romeo and Juliet.

And I'd also take the opportunity to give her some drawings I made of Re:Zero and Overlord.

Leaving Elma's shop wasn't easy. Several people approached me with questions. I answered them while trying to push through the crowd. I repeated over and over that I wasn't going to stop writing.

Once I finally made it past the crowd, people began chasing after me, and I told Hestia,

"Hestia, go home without me."

"Hm? What?"

Then I vanished, activating my invisibility skill.

Everyone was stunned when I disappeared.

I ran as fast as I could and hid nearby. I kept an eye on Hestia for a while to make sure no one would bother her. Once I was sure she was safe, I dashed toward the mansion.

Since there were people in front of the gate, I used my teleportation ability and transported myself directly into the mansion's living room.

"What?!" someone shouted beside me.

I appeared right in front of Mikoto.

"You scared me! How do you just appear like that?"

I hadn't shown Mikoto my teleportation ability before, so she was startled.

When I explained it to her, she was amazed.

"So you can go anywhere instantly? That's incredible! I wish I had a skill like that too."

"It has its limitations."

"Still, it's awesome! Why didn't you ever tell me you had an ability like that?"

"I use it so rarely that I kind of forgot about it."

"If I had a skill like that, I'd use it all the time."

"Hahaha." I chuckled and headed to the kitchen. Mikoto followed me.

"Where's the goddess?"

"She was with me at Elma's shop, but it got chaotic and I had to escape."

"Let me guess—your fans?"

"Exactly. It was a mess. She should be arriving soon."

"By the way, did you finish your new book?"

"Yes, I handed it to Elma today. I also gave her a few volumes of my other stories. I can finally relax a bit."

I started preparing ingredients for dinner, and Mikoto helped me.

A few minutes later, Hestia arrived home.

"Luan!"

"I'm in the kitchen!"

Hestia ran in.

"Why did you abandon me like that? I thought those people were going to attack me!"

"Don't worry—I was watching to make sure everything would be fine. Once I saw they weren't going to do anything, I came home."

"Still, you shouldn't have done that! I was scared, you know?"

"Alright, alright. I'll cook something really tasty as an apology."

"Hmph!"

Hestia left the kitchen, and Mikoto said,

"You really should've stayed by her side."
