Metis created the world. Prometheus taught.
Everything progressed smoothly, even remarkably simply.
In a short amount of time, both Metis and Prometheus had stepped into the ranks of God-Kings. Everything had gone so smoothly that it gave an odd sense of ease.
However, it must be acknowledged that this had all been meticulously planned. The more carefully things were planned, the easier they became.
After all, for gods, many things were exactly this simple. As long as everything was well-prepared, the outcome would follow naturally. There was no doubt about it.
At this point, the Sanctuary had firmly established its foothold in the mortal world. They had also begun collecting resources and sacred items from the world below. With Metis and Prometheus now seated as God-Kings, this was no issue.
Even though Athena still needed a long time to recover and ascend to God-King status... it didn't matter anymore. It wasn't a significant issue, at least not for the Sanctuary.
Though the Sanctuary lagged behind the Underworld, the Sea, and the Heavens in some respects, compared to the other gods, it no longer mattered. With two God-Kings, they could sweep through everything.
This was the core of the issue. The gap in power was undeniable. It wasn't something to be easily explained in a few words. The vast difference in strength would have truly deadly consequences for those who stood against them.

In the Underworld...
"Ahh..."
Hypnos let out a long breath, softly whispering to himself, "Thanatos, you've handed this role to me, haven't you?"
Indeed, the position of Lord of the Earth in the World Tree of the Underworld had been passed to Hypnos by Thanatos.
For both Thanatos and Hypnos, either of these death gods would have been suitable for the role. The contribution the twin gods had made to the Underworld was evident to all, and as a result, either of them would have been fitting for the position.
However, Thanatos ultimately chose to step aside and let Hypnos take on the role. This was the best outcome for both of them.
In the grand scheme of the Cosmos — Earth, Sea, Sky, and the Underworld — the position of the Underworld's ruler was unique. In truth, aside from Hades himself, who else could become the true master of the Underworld?
This position could only be filled by someone with an extraordinary status. Otherwise, it would remain vacant. This was unquestionable.
Hades was already the Lord of the Underworld. Who else could rise to this role? It was impossible for anyone, unless they were the Queen of the Underworld. Even someone as powerful as Hestia wouldn't be able to command universal respect in this domain. That was simply how it was.
Unless Hades and Persephone had a child who could inherit the position, no one else, no matter how strong, could take on the mantle of the Underworld's ruler.
Besides this, the other realms — Earth, Sea, Sky, and Stars — were overseen by the four Underworld deities: Aether, Hemera, Hypnos, and Thanatos. These four gods, representing Erebus and Nyx, the primordial deities, were naturally qualified for these roles.
Aether had already become the Lord of the Star Realm.
Now, with the emergence of the Earth Realm, Hypnos and Thanatos were the most suitable candidates. As for Hemera?
Well... Hemera, the goddess of daylight, would be most suited to rule the Sky. Daylight and the heavens went hand-in-hand.
Thanatos, on the other hand, was best suited for the Underworld due to his association with death. But as mentioned earlier, the position of Lord of the Underworld could only be held by someone truly exceptional. It was inevitable that this role would remain vacant unless Hades' offspring took it up.
Thus, the only position left for Thanatos was that of Lord of the Sea.
Admittedly, the laws of death didn't naturally align with the realm of the sea, but in a way, the two could be made to work together. The sea, when its power was unleashed, had the potential to bring about destruction on a massive scale.
If you thought about it, it did seem like the laws of death and the sea could complement each other.
All in all, in theory, Thanatos could fit this role. But again, it was only theoretical. The fact that he could match the role at all was already fortunate.
Of course, following Hades would undoubtedly bring further growth and improvement in the future. This arrangement, in a sense, wasn't a bad thing. With time, everything could develop naturally.
"Sigh..."
Hypnos sighed softly once again. He didn't know what to say. His brother had entrusted everything to him.
So, could he truly live up to the responsibility of being the elder brother? That was something Hypnos pondered deeply. Even now, he was considering whether he was the right fit for this role.
At that moment...
Apate quickly approached with a serious expression. "Hypnos, the creation and teachings in the mortal world are complete. Metis and Prometheus have both ascended to the ranks of God-Kings."
"Hmm?"
Hypnos was slightly taken aback but then nodded. "I see. But this was to be expected."
He wasn't surprised by this at all. In fact, it seemed like the most natural outcome.
If Metis and Prometheus couldn't ascend to God-King status after all they'd gained, they might as well give up. This wasn't a joke — it was a cold, hard fact!
