Chapter 97 Escape from the Temple

The ground trembled violently beneath our feet as the temple's walls groaned and shifted. Dust and debris filled the air, turning each breath into a choking struggle. Felix took the lead, his keen eyes scanning for a safe path through the chaos. "This way!" he shouted, pointing towards a narrow corridor that seemed less prone to collapse.

We dashed forward, dodging falling stones and leaping over fissures that opened up in the floor. The roar of destruction was deafening, a constant reminder that the entire structure could come down on us at any moment. "Keep moving!" I urged, my voice barely audible over the cacophony.

Sasha moved with feline grace, her agility serving her well in the treacherous environment. Eve and I brought up the rear, our eyes darting around, alert for new dangers. Suddenly, a massive chunk of the ceiling gave way directly above us. "Look out!" I yelled, pushing Eve out of the way as the stone crashed to the ground, narrowly missing us.
