Chapter 78: A Plan Unfolds

Chapter 78: A Plan Unfolds

The office of the Third Hokage in the Hidden Leaf Village. Malik has just finished briefing the Third Hokage on his team's missions.

Now, he leans in to share his audacious plan. Malik leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with a mix of determination and excitement. "Lord Hokage, I have a plan. It's not a good plan, it's not a fun plan," he said with a sly smile. "But it's crazy enough to work."

The Third Hokage raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Go on, Malik. What do you propose?" Malik took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "As a major sponsor for the Chūnin Exams, I can request to be seated with you during the finals. This will give us a strategic advantage."

Hiruzen nodded, listening intently. "And how does this tie into Orochimaru's plans?" "Here's the crux of it," Malik continued. "For years, Sunagakure suffered a series of budget cuts by the daimyō of the Land of Wind, weakening the village and rerouting ninja missions to Konoha. Orochimaru, a missing-nin from Konoha who founded Otogakure, approached the Fourth Kazekage with the proposition of a joint invasion using the Chūnin Exams as a cover to attack. The Kazekage accepted this plan to induce fear in the daimyō and restore funding to Sunagakure."

The Third Hokage's eyes narrowed, understanding dawning. "So, Orochimaru murdered the Kazekage and assumed his identity to control Sunagakure more easily." "Exactly," Malik affirmed. "My plan is to allow Orochimaru to come as she plans and watch the exam finals with us, letting her think that everything is proceeding smoothly. Meanwhile, I'll be there with you, ready to act." Hiruzen's expression grew thoughtful. "It's a risky plan, Malik. But the element of surprise could work in our favor. Orochimaru is cunning, but if she believes she has the upper hand, she might lower her guard."

Malik nodded, his resolve firm. "We need to turn her confidence against her. By making her think she's in control, we can catch her off guard and neutralize the threat. I'll be there to support you and ensure she doesn't succeed."

The Third Hokage sighed, a mix of weariness and determination in his eyes. "Very well, Malik. We'll proceed with your plan. We'll need to ensure that our security is tight and that our forces are ready to act at a moment's notice." "I'll coordinate with our security forces and make the necessary arrangements," Malik said, his voice steady. "We'll be prepared for anything."

Hiruzen gave a nod of approval. "Good. We'll need to remain vigilant and ready to act. Orochimaru is a formidable opponent, but with careful planning and execution, we can outmaneuver her." As Malik stood to leave, the Third Hokage's voice softened slightly. "Malik, I trust you. Your efforts and dedication to the village are commendable. Let's ensure that this plan succeeds and that the Hidden Leaf Village remains safe."

Malik smiled, a sense of pride and responsibility filling him. "Thank you, Lord Hokage. We won't let you down." As Malik reached the door, the stern figure of Danzō Shimura appeared, her eyes narrowing with disapproval. "Malik, your plan is stupid. Full stop."

Malik paused, surprised by her abruptness. He turned around, seeing the older woman standing with an air of authority. "Lady Danzō, I didn't expect you to interrupt before I even left the room."

Danzō's gaze was unwavering. "This plan of yours is reckless. Allowing Orochimaru to get so close is inviting disaster." Instead of reacting with frustration, Malik smiled and walked back towards Danzō. "Lady Danzō, I appreciate your concern, but there's more to this plan than meets the eye."

Hiruzen Sarutobi watched the exchange with a hint of amusement, not planning to intervene. He leaned back in his chair, a small smile playing on his lips. Malik continued, his voice smooth and confident. "You know, Lady Danzō, I've always admired your dedication and strength. You've accomplished so much for the village."

Danzō raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Malik." Malik chuckled, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Perhaps, but I genuinely mean it. You've been a pillar of strength for the Hidden Leaf Village, and I respect that." He stepped closer, his tone shifting to a more intimate one. "You know, Lady Danzō, there's something intriguing about a woman with your experience and power." Danzō's eyes flickered with a mix of surprise and amusement. "You're quite bold, Malik. Do you think sweet words can change my opinion on your plan?"

("Yes, yes I do,") Malik thought to himself. Malik shrugged, a charming smile on his face. "Not necessarily, but it doesn't hurt to try. Besides, I believe in this plan. Orochimaru underestimates us, and that will be her downfall."

Danzō crossed her arms, her stern facade cracking just slightly. "You're confident for someone so young. But confidence alone won't protect the village."

Malik nodded, sitting back down. "True, but neither will fear. We need to be proactive and strategic. This plan relies on careful preparation and the element of surprise."

Hiruzen chuckled softly, finding the conversation highly entertaining. Malik's approach was unconventional, but he knew there was merit in it. Malik leaned in closer to Danzō, his voice softening. "I understand your concerns, Lady Danzō. But consider this: by working together, combining your wisdom and my strategies, we can ensure the safety of the village."

Danzō's expression softened just a fraction. "You're very persuasive, Malik. But this isn't a game. The stakes are high." Malik's eyes met hers, sincerity shining through. "I know, and that's why I'm committed to making this work. I value your insight and experience. With your support, we can turn this plan into a success."

For a moment, the room was silent, the tension between them palpable. Then, to Malik's surprise, Danzō's lips curved into a faint smile. "You're a strange one, Malik. But perhaps there's something to your madness."

(" I AM A Charisma GOD, MHAHAHAAHHA!!") Malik shouts in his mind.

(" Malik, are you ok?!?") Ino asks through their connection.

(" You do know that when you yell in your mind, all of us can hear you right?") Neji tells him her sass leaking through the mental link.

(" I apologize my loves, I'll do better") Malik sends to them all.

{That was cute, but you should focus} Amora tells him.

Hiruzen couldn't contain his laughter any longer and let out a hearty chuckle. "I must say, Malik, you have a unique way of handling things. Danzō, give the boy a chance. His plans might be unconventional, but his heart is in the right place."

Danzō sighed, shaking her head slightly. "Very well, Malik. I'll keep an eye on your plan. But know this: if anything goes wrong, I will hold you accountable."

Malik stood, a triumphant smile on his face. "Thank you, Lady Danzō. I wouldn't expect anything less."

As Malik finally left the office, he felt a renewed sense of determination. With both the Third Hokage and Danzō's cautious approval, he knew the plan had a real chance of succeeding. The future of the Hidden Leaf Village rested on their shoulders, and he was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. ---
