Chapter:100

It's ugly, but it's useful.

The fertilizer plant is fully automatic and pollution-free. It captures the natural energy in the air and converts it into a catalyst within the machine, making the produced fertilizer of higher quality and effectively a super fertilizer.

This new type of fertilizer factory is built around this machine.

Kakashi and the others reviewed the blueprints with a mix of skepticism and curiosity but kept their questions to themselves. They were here to follow orders, not to question them.

Sasuke's plans included more than just fertilizer plants. While there were several types of factories on his agenda, the fertilizer plant was just one part of a broader industrial effort. The lack of a complete industrial system in the ninja world meant that Sasuke couldn't rely on a single factory to meet his needs. Unlike the efficient production systems of Academy City, the ninja world's infrastructure was rudimentary at best.

Land in the ninja world was cheap and practically free, and natural resources were abundant. Sasuke didn't need a single factory to handle all production. Instead, he opted to build multiple facilities to meet the growing demands.

Apart from fertilizer plants, Sasuke also planned to construct steel mills, rail factories, locomotive plants, and solar panel production facilities. These were all part of his efforts to deepen cooperation between the two nations.

It wasn't feasible to use ninjas for all tasks, despite their superior efficiency compared to regular workers. The scale of the industrial expansion required more than just ninja labor; Sasuke needed to provide employment opportunities for ordinary people, moving them from farmland into factories. While ninjas would assist with difficult construction tasks, much of the work would be carried out by the general populace.

Later that night in Sasuke's room:

"It's really tough, Sasuke-kun. Handling all these documents so late into the night," Orochimaru commented as he emerged from the shadows.

"Kakashi and the others have left?" Sasuke asked without looking up from his papers.

"Yes, they've gone."

"Nothing unexpected happened, right?"

"Of course not. Kakashi is quite perceptive. He knows what's appropriate and what's not. Working with him is very reassuring."

Orochimaru walked over and poured himself a glass of water from the teapot.

"As long as you're comfortable," Sasuke replied, closing the file and adjusting his glasses. "Senior Orochimaru, I've reviewed the documents you provided. The progress is impressive. At this rate, we'll soon be ready to begin preliminary ability development attempts. Have you secured the necessary energy sources? The equipment is quite demanding."

"I've identified several potential sources and will conduct additional surveys to finalize my choice," Orochimaru said, looking at Sasuke with interest.

"Actually, it's not just you who's impressive. I'm curious, Sasuke-kun, where did you acquire these materials? I've traveled extensively throughout the ninja world, but I've never seen anything like this."

Orochimaru's tone was tinged with a mix of admiration and envy.

Sasuke placed his hands in a thoughtful pose, covering most of his face except for his eyes. He stared back at Orochimaru.

"If I said there was indeed another world, would you be interested?"

Orochimaru's eyes lit up with intrigue.

"If such a world exists... I'd be very eager to see it."

They both laughed together, the tension between them easing as they shared a moment of genuine camaraderie.

As construction began in the Land of Fire and the Wind Country, other nations took note. The Land of Lightning and the Land of Water announced deepened cooperation, while the Land of Earth chose to form an economic alliance with several smaller neighboring countries. The specifics of these moves were vague and left largely unexplained.

Sasuke paid little attention to these developments. As long as the major villages didn't collapse, he had little concern for the political shifts. He focused on technological and economic advancements, areas where ninjas had little expertise.

By the end of the month, the fertilizer plant's equipment had been fully tested and was ready for operation. The first batch of fertilizer was produced and dispatched to the Fire City.

The effects of the chemical fertilizers were demonstrated to the Daimyo by Orochimaru, showing a marked improvement. The fertilizer reduced the maturation period of rice from three months to two and increased yield significantly. The Daimyo was delighted and prioritized the first batch for the Fire City, with future supplies to be distributed to other regions as production increased.

Sasuke remained indifferent to the distribution. For him, the fertilizer's effectiveness was more important than its market impact.
