Mei Ling's house was really comfy and nice.
Though Chen's memories of his own house nearly brought him to tears, he was aware that calling home at this particular time might cause issues for his mother and his other two sisters.
"Be at rest, Chen. I will bring something to drink." Mei Ling, who was moving forward, spoke without noticing Chen Hao's expression as she wondered if Chen Hao would find their small and messy home.
Lost in her own reverie, the young girl failed to notice Chen's rare little smile as he sat down on the couch and turned to face the girl as she approached the refrigerator.
"Coffee or tea." She asked Chen, who had been staring at her for a while with a slight smile, after she had entered the kitchen area.
"Water will be fine. Also, your home is really cozy, huh?" Mei Ling was taken aback by the slight smile that lingered on Chen's face when he said those words, but she soon realized that Chen Hao was more relaxed to converse with as a result.
Then, Mei Ling found that she could communicate with Chen quite easily and that there was no strangeness between them.
When Chen Hao discussed his own apartment, Mei Ling noticed a hint of sadness in his eyes as he spoke about how empty he felt without his family.
'Ah, he is also just a college student.' This time, the gap between Mei Ling and Chen Hao shrinks considerably when she realizes that Chen Hao does not possess those headonist master characteristics and has a nice personality.
The pair conversed extensively until 7 of the clock at night, at which point the apartment door opened and two people who resembled Mei Ling entered, one of whom was a familiar figure.
Mei Qing, Mei Ling mother looked a bit surprised to see that her younger daughter had brought a boy at this time back home, though from a look, she remembered that boy who looked really simple but tended to dress quite fashionable from that night.
"Hello!" In an attempt to be courteous, Chen Hao greeted the two women and gave a formal introduction as Mei Ling's acquaintance.
Mei Qing also greeted Chen Hao and heard Mei Ling's explanation. The other woman, meanwhile, simply stared at them silently and without intending to say anything.
After a moment, she shook off the cold stare and introduced herself as the sister of Mei Ling before politely walking out of the room.
"Sorry, Mei Hua is usually like this. I am sure she was not trying to be rude to you." When Mei Ling covered up her sister, Chen Hao shook his head and felt a little headache, wondering why a girl like that had joined his list as well.
"It is alright." He was not bothered by it; after all, he had seen those gazes before this, and by all those experiences, something like this did not bothered him at all.
After giving Chen Hao a brief glance and grinning, Mei Qing turned to face her daughter, considered what her older sister had told her, and then went into the kitchen.
"Chen Hao, right? Stay for dinner tonight; I need to thank you for helping Mei Ling too." Mei Qing did not give Chen Hao any chance to reject, and Mei Ling accompanied him for a while as they waited for the dinner, which turned out to be quite fancy and delicious.
Plus, having it freshly cooked and home-made, Chen Hao felt his appetite rise and was able to eat quite a lot.
'This is delicious.' At the end of it, Chen Hao thanked Mei Ling for such a nice invitation, and she decided to walk with him to the road.
"It is alright; after all, I wanted to thank you for today." Mei Ling looked at Chen, who was looking ahead with a slight blush, thinking about his comment from that time.
"Well, I consider you my friend, so I think it was given to me to help you." Chen smiled when he noticed Mei Ling blush and wondered if she was really still bothered by that comment when he teased him while embracing her during that jump.
Though her fresh reaction was also quite good and made her more cuter, he did not mind this kind of personality of Mei Ling, which is totally opposite to Yuqing's personality of composition and charm.
Mei Ling was a little taken aback to learn that Chen Hao had been behaving calmly toward her all along and that it had only taken her this long to recognize that he was treating her like a friend.
There was still silence between them for a while. When Mei Ling said goodbye to Chen Hao, she would occasionally peek at him while he was watching the street in silence. Just before she left, Mei Ling gave Chen Hao a kiss on the cheeks with a slight lift of her feet.
"Still, I want to thank you; it meant a lot to me." After saying those things, the young girl simply ran out of there like a rabbit trapped under a wolf's paw, leaving Chen Hao standing there, his cheeks touching as he thought about how shocked he was by Mei Ling's behavior.
Chen Hao's expression softened into a silent smile as he considered how fortunate he was and reminded himself that he would need to meet Mei Ling at some point in his lifetime.
As Chen Hao continue to walk down the street, he found a weird shop. Even though it did not look run-down, Chen Hao thought the store itself was rather strange.
Perhaps this was just an afterlife intuition, but he sensed that this particular store was not quite the same for some reason and had a weird vibe to it.
'Shall we check.' Chen Hao grumbled a small smile, crossed the street while jogging, and finally stopped in front of the store, which had an old-fashioned, historical appearance.
"Welcome!" When Chen Hao entered the store, he noticed that it smelled good. In addition, the shop's candlelight added to the enchanting voice he heard as a woman wearing a veil and distinctive clothing emerged from the adjacent room.
"I see! I have a rather favoured guest after such a long time." The woman calmly turned to face Chen Hao, and there was something almost ethereal about the way she spoke that made Chen Hao's body tremble.
"The god chosen! Is there something that you want from this shop? If it is alright with you, I have a list of things you can buy from me." The lady had a weird vibe to it, but somehow Chen Hao did not feel any threat from her and looked rather calm about the situation.
"I am sorry, but I was having a look around your shop." With an awkward smile, Chen Hao thought about how this woman was acting like a con artist, but for some reason, his gut told him that this shop was real and distinct.
So, he just looked around and at the first item on the shelf caught his attention, given the candle, which was shaped like different flower, looked rather interesting to him.
"That is the first item; when burned, it has a distinct scent that freshens the atmosphere and is ideal for a romantic candlelight dinner." When Chen Hao's curiosity was aroused, a woman appeared next to him and, in a very endearing voice, explained the item effect to him.
