The Adaptation Sage's Journey

With the Surveillance Mirror in Ayame's hands and the Surveillance Orb ready to follow Blake, they felt more connected despite the impending separation.

Blake kissed Ayame's forehead one last time before stepping out, the orb floating beside him.

Ayame watched through the mirror, her eyes following Blake's every move. "Be safe, darling."

Blake nodded, determination in his eyes. "Always."

As Blake ventured deeper into the unfamiliar territory, he felt a surge of confidence.

With Ayame and the mansion spirit supporting him, he knew they were ready to face whatever challenges this new world presented.

The forest was dense and full of life, with towering trees and thick underbrush. The air was fresh and filled with the scent of pine and earth.

Blake moved cautiously, scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger. The Surveillance Orb hovered beside him, its presence a constant reminder of Ayame's watchful eyes.

Meanwhile, Ayame monitored Blake's progress from the mansion. She used the touchscreen on the Surveillance Mirror to adjust the orb's view, ensuring she had a clear vision of Blake's surroundings.

The magical connection allowed them to communicate seamlessly, bridging the distance between them.

"Blake, there's a stream up ahead," Ayame's voice came through the orb. "It might be a good source of water and a place to gather information about the local wildlife."

"Got it," Blake replied, making his way towards the sound of running water. As he approached the stream, he marveled at the crystal-clear water and the vibrant vegetation that lined its banks.

He crouched down, taking a sip of the refreshing water and noting its purity.

Typically, drinking directly from a stream is risky due to the high possibility of contamination with bacteria, parasites, and other pathogens, which can lead to serious illnesses like giardiasis or cryptosporidiosis.

It's essential to purify water from natural sources by boiling, using filtration systems, or chemical treatments to ensure its safety.

However, with his Adaptation Sage Authority, Blake could literally adapt to anything, whether it was attacks thrown at him or the environment he was exposed to. This extraordinary ability made him immune to the potential dangers lurking in the water.

Blake was suited for being an explorer in this foreign world so he took on this role instead of Ayame.

Blake mused, 'Being the Adaptation Sage of the human race sure makes it convenient even in another world.'

While Blake was exploring the forest, the Surveillance Orb captured the scene, and Ayame watched with interest. "This place is beautiful," she remarked. "It's almost surreal."

Blake nodded, "It is. But we can't let our guard down. There's no telling what dangers might be lurking around."

"But with the sage authority to adapt to anything, if I can't even survive this, then no one in our world can. So just treat this as a walk in the park."

'However, I do have to admit, this sage authority is still quite painful to use.'

'But for Ayame's sake, pain is nothing. In my case, it's only temporary and only an illusion.'

With those thoughts in mind, Blake was determined to explore this foreign world to pave a path for Ayame.

As he explored further, Blake encountered various flora and fauna, each more fascinating than the last. He took mental notes of everything, knowing that this information would be crucial for their survival.

The Surveillance Orb floated nearby, capturing every detail and transmitting it back to Ayame.

"Blake, be careful," Ayame cautioned, her voice filled with concern. "We don't know what kind of creatures live here."

"I will," Blake assured her. "I'm keeping my eyes open."

Despite the potential dangers, Blake felt a sense of exhilaration. The thrill of discovery and the beauty of the new world filled him with a renewed sense of purpose.

With Ayame by his side, even if only through the magical connection, he felt invincible.

As the day progressed, Blake continued to explore, gathering valuable information and gaining a deeper understanding of the world they now called home. The bond between him and Ayame grew stronger, their love and determination fueling their journey into the unknown.

Blake didn't know how long he walked and how long he explored the forest. However, he never felt tired since his Adaptation Sage Authority would adapt to his exhaustion and he would never run out of stamina.

Blake continued walking through the forest well into the night, like a vehicle with unlimited fuel.

He never felt bored, as Ayame frequently chatted with him through the Surveillance Mirror. When they ran out of topics, Ayame even began teaching him how to use magic.

In their home world, magic usage varied significantly from person to person, depending on their talent, knowledge, and mana volume.

For those with a vast mana volume, the process was relatively straightforward.

They could use their imagination to cast spells, with mana serving as the payment for the spell's realization. Even with minimal knowledge, their abundant mana allowed them to perform magic with ease.

Conversely, individuals with a low mana volume had to compensate by possessing extensive magical knowledge and theoretical understanding.

For instance, while someone with high mana might simply think of fire and make it appear, those with low mana had to understand the intricate details of fire's nature and composition. This deeper understanding allowed them to cast spells despite their limited mana.

To create more complex spells, magic researchers developed intricate formulas and equations. These formulas served as detailed blueprints, ensuring the desired effects were achieved through precise magical manipulation.

Magic talent acted as a multiplier, reducing the time required to learn magical concepts.

An average person might take a week or a month to learn a simple fireball spell, while a prodigy could grasp it instantly and cast it effortlessly.

Ayame's explanations made the magical principles clearer to Blake, providing him with a deeper understanding of how he could harness and refine his abilities in this new world.

Blake mused, 'My Adaptation Sage Authority grants me immunity to various attacks, including magic. But could it also allow me to use the magic that was thrown at me?'

He speculated, 'If time stop magic were used on me, and I adapted to move within stopped time, could I also learn to cast time stop magic myself?'
