The sun had set, with Adam and Elena making their way up the mountain in silence, not really knowing what to say to one another.
"So... not a conversation starter, are you?"
She pouted.
"I'm not really sure what you want me to say"
He replies with a blank expression.
"what's the deal with you anyway?"
"What do you mean?"
"What happened to you? Are you a mutant? Where are your parents?"
Elena asks eagerly as they walk.
"I don't have any parents. Or family. Rex is the only person I remember seeing when I first opened my eyes. He told me he built the dome when he found me in the middle of nowhere in the outlands. He told me I was a result of the "unavoidable disaster" that happened at the time, although he couldn't determine exactly what I was despite countless tests. He's been taking care of me ever since."
"Wow... that's a lot to take in. Uh.. how old are you really?"
"...Rex says I'm 18."
"Is he your mom or something?"
Titan looks at her annoyedly before relaxing his expression, looking away.
"Like I said can only remember the last 5 years. Rex did some tests on me and told me I was near identical to a fully developed adult human male."
'Now that he mentions it, he does have a great physique. I see his abs whenever the wind slightly blows up his shirt... his back and shoulders are pretty broad too' Elena thought while looking at Adam's body as they walked. Adam was too busy thinking to notice her glances.
"He spends a lot of his time in his lab studying different Variegated lifeforms. Developing some kind of cure for mutants I'd like to think." Adam adds.
"He's pretty smart huh..." Elena suggests as Adam nods agreeably.
Elena stretches as they finally reach the top of the mountain. They walk a couple meters to the entrance of the dome's gigantic doorway as it automatically slides open.
"I really hope you don't turn out to be some crazy super villain who uses me as a test subject for your own benefit."
Elena says as they walk in, trying to get a reaction out of Adam. But he doesn't say anything, wearing the same blank expression he always does.
"You know it's annoying when you ignore me like that."
Elena pouts but Adam stays unresponsive as they both walk into the dome.
"You just did it again!" She angrily exclaims.
"Sorry, I don't really know what to say sometimes."
