Chapter Nineteen: Understanding is Enough

Su Xue'er wiped away her tears and said slowly, "I saw it."

"What's wrong with you?" the Pixiu looked at Su Xue'er, whose face was covered in tears, feeling puzzled. Could something bad have happened?

"Can this formation see events from more than five years ago? Memories that are not within the Treasure Gathering Valley?"

The Pixiu shook its massive head. "No, this formation cannot retrieve memories from before. Moreover, it would be against nature to do so. Unless it's the legendary Time-Space Formation, which can access memories from the past."

Although Su Xue'er felt disappointed upon hearing that she couldn't retrieve memories, at least she had a new idea – to find such a Time-Space Formation.

Afterward, Su Xue'er began to practice diligently. Currently only at the Spirit King Realm, she had a long way to go before she could restore her former strength. So, she had to work even harder.

During Su Xue'er's practice, the spiritual energy condensed around her gradually changed from a light blue color to a pale, ancient white, and it became denser. The Pixiu noticed this change, but when it tried to warn her, it found its movements to be sluggish.

"What's going on? Why am I moving so slowly?"

The Pixiu immediately used spiritual power to break through the barrier, but it startled Su Xue'er.

Su Xue'er opened her eyes and asked, "Pixiu, what's wrong?"

Unable to contain its joy, the Pixiu said, "Congratulations, Mother."

Su Xue'er became even more confused. "Congratulations? Congratulations for what? Did Zixuan drive them away?"

"No, congratulations, Mother, for gaining a domain that possesses both time and space attributes, something that hasn't been comprehended by humans for thousands of years – the Temporal-Spatial Domain."

Su Xue'er asked in confusion, "What is a domain?"

The Pixiu explained, "A domain is an inherent skill comprehended by both spirit beasts and spirit masters. Domains require little spiritual energy but have immense power. Those who possess a domain are invincible among peers of the same level."

Hearing the Pixiu's explanation, Su Xue'er looked at herself in amazement, thinking to herself, "I didn't expect to have such talent. I need to work harder to restore myself to my peak state."

Afterward, Su Xue'er began to comprehend the abilities derived from the domain.

A month later, Su Xue'er comprehended the first skill of the Temporal-Spatial Domain – Temporal Stasis, which could immobilize spirit masters or spirit beasts with lower spiritual power.

At noon, Shen Zixuan's voice came from outside the cave.

"Mom, I'm back. I've driven them away." Shen Zixuan shouted to Su Xue'er, who was sitting inside the cave.

Su Xue'er stood up and said, "Come in and rest."

Su Xue'er was busy arranging some beddings on Shen Zixuan's stone bed, which she had brought with her when she left.

Su Xue'er smiled and pulled Shen Zixuan over. "Come, this is your bed." She pointed to the stone bed she had just arranged.

"Okay, thank you, Mom."

Although Shen Zixuan could understand why Su Xue'er was being so kind to him, Su Xue'er felt more guilty in her heart for not trusting him before.

After that, Su Xue'er and Shen Zixuan stayed in the Treasure Gathering Valley. Since Su Xue'er needed to cultivate here, her activity area was not far from the lake.

In no time, a year had passed, and Su Xue'er's foundation had been significantly strengthened. On this night, a beast and two people sat by the lake, surrounded by a campfire.

"Time flies so quickly. It's hard to believe a whole year has passed," Su Xue'er remarked.

"Yeah, where does Mom plan to go next?" Shen Zixuan inquired.

"I'm not sure, we'll see when we get there," Su Xue'er replied, then turned to Pixiu. "Aren't you going out?"

"You jest. I must guard this place and cannot leave," Pixiu replied.

"Oh, by the way, I've been here for over a year, and you haven't told me the name of this lake," Su Xue'er asked Pixiu and Shen Zixuan.

Pixiu lowered its head, then looked up at the bright moon and said, "We don't know the name of this lake. As you know, we spirit beasts don't care much about what this lake is called."

"Haha," Su Xue'er couldn't help but laugh. "Well then, I'll give it a name."

Su Xue'er stood up, walked around, then stopped, spread her hands, closed her eyes, and bathed in the cool breeze blowing over the lake.

She slowly spoke, "Let's call it Serenity Lake."

"Serenity Lake? Okay, what do you think of that name?" Shen Zixuan asked Pixiu.

"It's good," Pixiu replied indifferently, which irritated Shen Zixuan. "What's with your attitude?"

"What attitude do you want from me?" Pixiu retorted. "Do you want me to be extremely enthusiastic and excited as if I wholeheartedly agree with this name?"

Ignoring Shen Zixuan's flavorful remarks, Pixiu continued, "Zixuan, why don't you go inside for a moment? I need to talk to Pixiu."

Making a face at Pixiu, Shen Zixuan went inside.

After Shen Zixuan left, Pixiu asked, "What did you want to tell me?"

"A year ago, you asked me about my attitude toward him," Su Xue'er said.

"Your answer was that you couldn't accept him. What about it?"

Su Xue'er smiled faintly and looked at Pixiu. "After this year together, he has been very good to me. He has accepted me as his mother. How can I not accept him as my son?"

Pixiu nodded approvingly and said, "When do you plan to leave then?"

"Tomorrow. I want to take him out for some adventures."

"If he ever faces trouble outside, you can always come to me, and I'll help you resolve it," Pixiu said firmly.

"I'm not worried. The outside world is peaceful now. Nothing will happen," Su Xue'er replied with a smile.

"In that case, I'll rest assured. But you should worry a bit about that kid," Pixiu expressed some concern.

"What's wrong?" Su Xue'er asked.

"He tends to get into trouble. I'm afraid he'll cause you trouble," Pixiu said.

"I'll watch over him. Even if he gets into trouble with the wrong people, let this mother handle it," Su Xue'er said firmly.

Pixiu understood the unwavering determination in Su Xue'er's eyes.
