Study Room
Yushi was leisurely sitting in a chair, holding a cup of tea in his right hand and a book in his left, reading attentively, when he heard a knock at the door.
"Knock, knock, knock~"
Yushi set down his book and tea cup, impatiently saying, "Who is it? Didn't I say not to disturb me today?"
"I didn't expect the Lord General to have a leisurely day as well."
Upon hearing Su Xue'er's voice, Yushi looked up, seeing Su Xue'er entering the room.
Yushi quickly stood up and walked over, asking with concern, "How are you feeling? Is your injury better?"
Yushi gently helped Su Xue'er sit in the chair he had just vacated, taking another chair for himself beside her.
"Are you teasing me for fun?" Faced with Su Xue'er's question, Yushi showed no particular expression, just saying calmly, "Not really."
"Not really? You..." Su Xue'er, seeing Yushi's calm demeanor, became infuriated, turning her head to look out the window.
"Here, have some water to calm down," Yushi offered, handing Su Xue'er the water. After a while, Su Xue'er glanced at the tea in Yushi's hand and said, "You won't hold it up forever if I don't take it, right?"
"Hmm."
"Then forget it, I'll take it."
With that, she took the tea from Yushi's hand and sipped it slowly.
"By the way, Xue'er, I want to talk to you," Yushi said.
"Okay," Su Xue'er replied, sitting up straight.
"Based on my investigations, I have a high probability of knowing what your previous name was."
"What was it?" Su Xue'er's face was filled with anticipation, but her eyes revealed a hint of panic, fearing that she might be Yun Chuxue, fearing that if she was, her past mistakes might lead to her demise.
"Yun Chuxue."
These three words felt like a thousand-pound weight pressing down on Su Xue'er. She trembled, unable to look directly at Yushi, her eyes filled with panic, tears silently falling onto her tightly clasped hands due to nervousness.
Seeing the unusual Su Xue'er before him, Yushi thought, So she knew all along.
"Xue'er, what's wrong?" Yushi asked with concern.
"N-nothing," Su Xue'er stammered.
"Then what's this?" Yushi inquired.
"Would you kill me?" Su Xue'er asked.
Yushi smiled faintly. "Kill you? Unlikely. Can you tell me why I should kill you?"
"I killed your master."
Yushi chuckled lightly. "Who told you that?"
"Shen Yueru."
"Her?"
"You argued with her that day and said it. I overheard it all."
"I see. Do you believe her or me?" Yushi asked.
Su Xue'er hesitated, not answering, never daring to lift her head to look at Yushi throughout the conversation.
Yushi continued, "At first, I thought Yun Chuxue killed my master, but later I found some clues suggesting my master was poisoned, seeking death to end his suffering, and Yun Chuxue happened to be made out as the villain."
Su Xue'er slowly raised her head, saying, "I want to know how much you like me."
"You've made being the Lord General interesting for me. You've taught me what it means to govern with benevolence. You've made me realize that hatred only blinds us and won't lead us further along the path."
Su Xue'er was shocked by Yushi's words, staring blankly at him, and said, "Can liking someone really make you give up your hatred? If that's the case, I'd rather atone for my sins with death."
"Hahaha~" Suddenly, Yushi burst into laughter, leaving Su Xue'er puzzled.
"Why are you laughing?" Su Xue'er asked.
"Xue'er, to be honest, what are your feelings for me?"
"I... I... Yushi, I..."
Before Su Xue'er could finish her sentence, Yushi kissed her directly, and Su Xue'er, about to resist, let her hand drop mid-air.
This kiss lasted for a long time. After a while, Yushi looked at Su Xue'er, whose face was as red as an apple, and said, "Whether you're Su Xue'er or Yun Chuxue, you'll always be the one I love, no one else."
"But I'm your enemy..."
Before Su Xue'er could finish her sentence, Yushi interrupted, "Shh~ Xue'er, you need to remember, there's no enmity between us. Simply put, I don't hold any grudge against Yun Chuxue. You'll understand once you regain your memories."
"Okay," Su Xue'er still spoke with her head bowed, evidently not believing Yushi's words.
In Yushi's ear, he whispered, "Your kiss smells so good, could you give me another one?"
Yushi intentionally lowered his voice a bit, waiting for Su Xue'er to be fooled. Su Xue'er said, "You said... mmm~" Before she could finish, Yushi kissed her again, and this time, Su Xue'er had no thoughts of resistance...
After a long time, Su Xue'er said affectionately, "Yushi, I love you. These past few years, I've understood how good you've been to me, and I've also confirmed my feelings for you. There's just a bit of resentment because of that night you..." Su Xue'er blushed as she spoke, while Yushi smiled and said, "Xue'er, then can you tell me, are you pregnant?"
Su Xue'er shook her head, indicating no. Yushi waved his hand and said, "Not pregnant? Then we didn't succeed that night. We'll try again tonight, right, Xue'er?"
Upon hearing this, Su Xue'er pouted angrily. "You... I'm ignoring you." With that, she turned her back to Yushi. Yushi sat sideways, supporting his forehead with his hand, stroking Su Xue'er's long hair, and said, "When I first saw you, I fell in love with you at first sight. Later, when I learned your true identity, I initially thought to use you to eradicate the troubles of the Spirit Master Mansion, but eventually I abandoned that idea."
Hearing the words "troubles," Su Xue'er frowned and turned around, asking, "Troubles? Are you referring to someone?"
"Guess," Yushi said, nodding in satisfaction when Su Xue'er guessed correctly, "Moon Ruyu."
"Of course," Su Xue'er agreed. Yushi hugged Su Xue'er and asked, "You're not angry anymore?"
Su Xue'er pouted and said, "Am I angry? I didn't even know."
"Since Yushi wants to get rid of Moon Ruyu, I'll just go along with it and help Yushi once," Su Xue'er thought to herself.
"Yushi, when are we getting married?" Su Xue'er asked. Yushi's expression faltered upon hearing this, and he stood up slightly, looking at the words on the wall.
Seeing this, Su Xue'er asked, "What's wrong?"
Yushi sighed and said, "You haven't regained your memories yet, and I haven't avenged my master's death. I just can't rest assured."
"Hehe, I understand. I just said it casually. I can wait. I'll wait for you to avenge your master before we get married."
"Okay, I swear to the heavens, I'll give you the grandest wedding in the entire continent."
"Mmhm."
