Chapter Forty-Three: Ascension to the Spirit Emperor Realm

Only those who have cultivated to the Spirit God Realm can soar into the sky. However, within the Ling Master's Mansion, it was forbidden to fly in the air, considered a taboo. But who was Yu Shi? He was the General of the Ling Master's Mansion. Did he not know? Ultimately, rules were dead; people were alive.

After landing in Xue Shi Garden, a maid approached respectfully and inquired, "Lord General, how should we handle the bedsheet with bloodstains?"

"Directly burn it. Leave no ashes," replied Yu Shi.

"Yes."

With that, he carried Su Xue'er into the room.

In the afternoon, Su Xue'er woke up with hazy eyes. Glancing outside, she realized she was in Xue Shi Garden. Panicked, she sat up, wondering, "What happened? Wasn't I supposed to be with Yu Shi? What's going on?"

Then, she looked around and saw Yu Shi sitting at the desk, sorting through documents.

Su Xue'er got up and walked over, sitting beside Yu Shi.

"Awake?" he asked.

"Yeah."

"Fully awake?"

"Yeah."

Putting down the documents, he served Su Xue'er a bowl of soup from the side.

"Drink this. It's Snow Lotus Soup, more nutritious."

"Yeah."

Su Xue'er took the Snow Lotus Soup and leisurely sipped it.

Seeing the pile of documents on the table, Su Xue'er asked, "Yu Shi, what are all these?"

"These are detailed accounts of all the expenses for the wedding ceremony."

"How much did it cost approximately?"

"Not much, only forty million gold coins."

"Phew~ cough, cough, cough!" Su Xue'er spat out the Snow Lotus Soup she had just drunk.

Yu Shi quickly put down the documents, grabbed a handkerchief, and wiped Su Xue'er's mouth, patting her back.

"Are you okay? Look at you, choking on soup."

"I'm fine. It's just that you scared me."

"What?"

"The expenses are too high. I... you know."

"Earn money to spend. If you keep it, will it reproduce? If you support it, what will it give you?"

Su Xue'er covered her mouth and chuckled. "Yu Shi, you... you're bullying me."

"Hurry up and drink, or it'll get cold."

"Oh."

Soon, Su Xue'er finished drinking. She put down the bowl and spoon and asked, "By the way, Yu Shi, about the bloodstains on the bedsheet, what's going on? I thought about it, and something doesn't seem right. Did nothing happen between us four years ago, right?"

"Yeah, that's right."

Su Xue'er pondered for a moment. "Why? Are they trying to get something out of me? Or..."

Seeing Su Xue'er lost in thought, Yu Shi explained, "It's because of Shen Yueru. She placed a monitoring array in the General's Mansion. I believe it's a gift from that power."

"A monitoring array? Doesn't the Ling Master's Mansion have one?"

"The Ling Master's Mansion doesn't engage in such eavesdropping activities. How could they have one?"

"Yu Shi, I'm going to seclude myself and cultivate the Illusory Sword Technique Grandfather gave me."

"Alright, I'll take you to the adjacent cultivation room."

The cultivation room in Xue Shi Garden was specifically prepared by Yu Shi for Su Xue'er, located at the quietest corner of the garden.

After Su Xue'er entered, Yu Shi snapped his fingers, and a black-clothed figure appeared.

"Master, what are your orders?"

"Assign two Spirit Saint Realm experts to guard here. Report to me immediately if there are any special circumstances."

"Yes."

With that, Yu Shi glanced at the cultivation room and left.

Three months later.

It had been three months since Su Xue'er entered seclusion for cultivation. Every day, Yu Shi sat on the swing in Xue Shi Garden because from there, he could directly see Su Xue'er's cultivation room.

On this day, Yu Shi remained indifferent as he sat on the swing. Suddenly, a beam of light rose from the cultivation room.

"Xue'er has broken through to the Spirit Emperor Realm. That's great," Yu Shi exclaimed, immediately getting up and walking over. Knocking on the door, he asked, "Xue'er, are you okay? Do you need to rest for a few days?"

"Yu Shi, come in. I have something to ask you," Su Xue'er replied from inside.

Upon entering, Yu Shi noticed a bucket beside Su Xue'er. Curious, he approached and saw vomit inside. Before he could inquire, Su Xue'er spoke, "Yu Shi, about a month ago during my cultivation, I felt like there was a barrier hindering me, making cultivation exceptionally difficult."

Yu Shi grasped Su Xue'er's hand and began probing with his spiritual power. After a while, he shook his head with a frown. "I'm not sure. I couldn't find anything. Maybe you should rest for a while."

Su Xue'er had no choice. If Yu Shi couldn't figure it out, there might be some hidden spiritual force blocking her.

"Yeah, that's all I can do," she agreed.

Yu Shi helped Su Xue'er back to bed to rest. Upon hearing about Su Xue'er's condition, Tang Ruoyu and Shen Zixuan rushed over to see her, while Yu Shi left to search for the cause.

"Xue'er, are you okay? We heard you experienced some reactions during cultivation?" Tang Ruoyu inquired.

"Yes, Mom, what's wrong?" Su Xue'er replied.

Shaking her head, Su Xue'er said, "I don't know."

Tang Ruoyu pondered for a moment and suggested, "Why don't we invite my father? He's an expert in treating spiritual bodies. Maybe he can help."

"Well... we'll have to trouble Chief Tang," Su Xue'er agreed.

As Tang Ruoyu hurriedly left, she returned soon after with Tang Mingyuan, who exclaimed excitedly, "Xue'er, I brought my father here."

Rubbing his waist, Tang Mingyuan complained, "Oh, Ruoyu, my old bones are almost falling apart."

As Tang Ruoyu pushed Tang Mingyuan while speaking, she said, "Hurry up and take a look at Xue'er. What's wrong with her?"

Helplessly, Tang Mingyuan shook his head and bowed respectfully to Su Xue'er. "Madam General, forgive me for the intrusion."

With that, he formed a healing array above Su Xue'er. Shortly after, Tang Mingyuan's face lit up with joy.

"Hahaha!"

Su Xue'er and Tang Ruoyu were both stunned. Shen Zixuan curiously asked, "Chief Tang, what happened? Why are you so happy?"

"Hahaha! Congratulations, Madam General. You're pregnant, three months along," Tang Mingyuan announced.

"Ah, I'm pregnant," Su Xue'er smiled. Shen Zixuan and Tang Ruoyu were also excited. Tang Mingyuan stroked his beard and suggested, "Should we inform General Yu?"

"No, let's not tell him for now. I want to give him a surprise," Su Xue'er decided.

Seeing Su Xue'er's radiant smile, everyone admired the bond between her and Yu Shi.

After everyone left, Su Xue'er sat on the sofa by the window in her room. Soon, she saw Yu Shi entering with an old man.

The old man complained as he was pulled along, "Lord General, I'm almost 120 years old. If you keep pulling me like this, my bones will fall apart."

Ignoring his complaints, Yu Shi focused on Su Xue'er. "Xue'er, I found a knowledgeable physician for you. He can..."

But noticing Su Xue'er wasn't in bed, he looked around and became displeased. "Xue'er, why are you out of bed? Didn't I tell you to rest properly?"

Su Xue'er chuckled lightly, stood up, and walked over to the old man. "Thank you for your trouble, old physician. Please accept this token of appreciation. It's all from me, on behalf of Yu Shi."

With that, she handed him a bag of gold coins.

The old man hesitated to accept but seeing Su Xue'er looking well, he took it and asked, "Thank you, Madam General. I wonder what illness Madam General has?"

"The cause has been found. Thank you for your trouble," Su Xue'er replied.

The old man bowed respectfully. "Since Madam General is fine, I'll take my leave."

"Alright, take care," Su Xue'er bid farewell.

After the old man left, Su Xue'er turned to the now visibly upset Yu Shi. With a playful smile, she forcibly pulled him down to sit beside her.

Yu Shi's expression, previously stiff, softened as he gazed at Su Xue'er. It was evident he was angry. Su Xue'er held his hand, pouting.

"Don't be angry. I have a surprise for you."

Seeing no response from Yu Shi, she continued, "If you don't listen, I'll ignore you."

Seeing Su Xue'er's displeasure, Yu Shi relented. "Can you tell me what the surprise is?"

Su Xue'er grinned mischievously and whispered in Yu Shi's ear, "I found out the cause."

"What is it?" he asked eagerly.

"You're going to be a father."

As the words sank in, Yu Shi's previously stiff expression softened into one of warmth, and he embraced Su Xue'er tightly. "Xue'er, is it true? Am I going to be a father?"

"Yes, Yu Shi, it's true."

"That's wonderful! Haha."
