Backfire

"Hey Leah," Kelvin leisure voice said from the phone. From the sound of it, it looks as if he was in a good mood.

Leah quickly put the call on record before replying.

"Kelvin Parker, what do you want from me."

"Oh Leah, how is business going?" Kelvin asked with a slight chuckle.

"Worst, just the way you wanted," Leah said as she relaxed her back on the chair.

"Haha, this is just the beginning. This is what you get for opposing me. If you don't agree to my request you will only get causalities coming your way," Kelvin said with a threatening tone.

"And what does your request mean, Mr Kelvin Parker?" Leah asked.

"Don't act dumb. Agree to my request and forget about cancelling the engagement. Or else..... You are just gonna suffer more," Kelvin threatened again.

"Is that a threat. Mr Kelvin?" Leah asked with a raised eyebrow and a furious expression. It was clear she hates being threatened.

"Why are you talking awkwardly?" Kelvin asked.

"Takes it any how you want it. I am giving you till the end of today to make your decision," Kelvin said.

"Too bad for you that things won't go the way you want," Leah said with a smile.

"What do you mean?" Kelvin asked over the phone.

"You see... I now have evidence against you," Leah said.

"Evidence? What evidence? The article has no link towards me," Kelvin said with a confused expression.

"Not that, it this," Leah said putting Kelvin in suspense.

"Keep talking crazy, just remember your deadline," Kelvin said as he was about to hung up the call.

"You see, our entire conversation was already on record. You can hung up now and expect a call from my lawyer soon," Leah said.

"Wait what going on?" Kelvin asked getting flustered.

"Your plans are getting back fired," Leah said as she hung up.

"Wooh," Leah exclaimed.

Looking at the voice record, she couldn't help but smoke to herself.

"This saves us a lot of stress," Leah thought inwardly.

"You got it right?" Mr Matthew who had been standing beside her said with a smile.

"Yeah, we got his threat and confessions. I will send it to you, ready it for the public conference," Leah said.

"Okay, I will go and arrange for that now," Mr Matthew said as he hurriedly left the room.

Leah heaved a sigh of relief, the heavy burden has been lifted a bit by just the one mistake from Kelvin.

"I should have noticed he wasn't that smart. He is just an over ambitious guy," Leah thought.

"If that so, he won't have been able to craft such plan since he obviously ruined it. Is it Olivia?" Leah pondered.

"Taking Kelvin from me could be because she loves him and wanted him for herself for some reason. It normal for that, but would Olivia betray her family for a man?" Leah thought.

"If that is the case I need to be extra careful when dealing with her," Leah said to herself.

"It better to pour all these time to work," Leah said as she got up from the room and head to the field that had been arranged for the testing.

*******In Kelvin House****

Kelvin looking anxious placed his phone in his ears waiting impatiently for the person to pick up.

"Hey darling, how are you feeling. Don't worry she is currently facing a lot of pressure," Olivia sweet voice came over the phone.

"Where are you now?" Kelvin asked.

"In the mall, what happened? You seemed a bit stress," Olivia said with a concerned look on her face.

"She has evidence against us," Kelvin said breaking the news.

"What? That impossible, I am sure I hired a professional. There shouldn't be any trace to us," Olivia said.

"I... I called her to taunt her, I didn't know she was recording our call," Kelvin explained.

"What!" Olivia said in a loud voice.

"Leah, that bitch. I should have known she was up to something with the weird way she call my full name throughout our talk," Kelvin said as he hissed in frustration.

"Come home quick so we can find a solution," Kelvin said as he hung up.

"What a stupid person. She kept mentioning your name and you couldn't tell something is off," Olivia said as she bite her lips in anger.

"Now he has dragged me into his mess. Is he really worth my effort?" Olivia thought.

She paid the bills of the clothes she bought before driving off in her car.

***Back at the company***

Leah reached the set with some few people behind her, the characters for the movie were already present.

"Hmmm....Good afternoon everyone," Leah said with a friendly smile catching their attention.

"Good afternoon Miss," The greeted in unison noticing her presence.

"I can see everyone is already busy so I will keep my announcement short," Leah said keeping her smile.

"First of, I would like to thank you all for trusting the company. Next, you don't have to bother about the news going on in social media. They are already been handled. I would like you all to focus on your work. The main script would be given to you all today, the faster you familiarise yourself with it the better," Leah said.

"I personally will be handling and monitoring the whole thing. I won't tolerate any slacking as that would result in punishment," Leah said with a sharp gaze.

"Any question?" Leah asked looking at them. Her eyes briefly stopped at Allen who briefly gave her a smile.

"What happening?" Leah asked herself as she felt her heart skipped a beat.

"It just a smile nothing much," She said to herself trying to maintain her professional look.

"Good thing no one noticed," She said as she breath a sigh of relief.

"So the whole media stuffs are gone right?" Allen asked among the crowd.

"Though it isn't fully gone. You can rest assure that it would be by the end of the day. In the mean time get alone with each other," Leah said.

"It time," A bodyguard whisper to her ears.

"I will see you guys soon," Leah said as she followed him.
